Engine wear

Recommended Posts

I've seen several posts about it, but not really a response.
Driving Ferrari in career mode on 100 % races. So far I've driven 6 races and had an engine wear warning in every race from about 1/3d in till halfway. But always getting it and gets slightly worse (from light green to yellowish) towards the end.
I drive with all assists on since this is my first F1 game since Grand Prix 94 so auto shifting cant be the problem.
Also played with different fuel mixes but even in races with not a single moment in high and mixing as much lean in as possible i still get it.

Would like to know if others are getting it and if they found a solution?
Also is this known by Codemasters and if so is a fix coming  (when and how?)
Thanks in advance

I have it in almost every race now, when I moved to Ferrari (I never experienced it in Renault or McLaren). I do 50% races and I get this information a couple of laps before the finish. However, I don't notice any influence of engine wear on the car's performance.

I notice some difference, the last gear changes take more effort/ go slightly slower which results in less top speed on straights.

You dont reckon it's Ferrari bound? Ill try some different teams in carreer and try to focus on engine upgrades in R&D maybe that helps

I've noticed here and on Reddit a few ppl complaining about engine wear. One thing they have in common; they use automatic gears and it could be some relation. Haven't heard many ppl complain about this issue running manual.

I wish there were more user engine failures honestly. I'm in season 4 and haven't had one. Just had a race where Hamilton and Verstappen both blew up right in my face a few laps apart and I got the win.

Would be more real to suffer engine failures myself too.

not true, using wheel and no assists, also manual gear. Started a new career on Master an got it the first two races on 50%.
I think i know what caused it, i was running way to much on rich revs. The races after i eased on with the rich mix and didn't had the problem anymore.

I didn't even realize that engine wear would be a factor affecting a race ! I can understand tire wear, but with these complex hybrids,  should engine wear be even a factor when completing a race or after it?

I use manual gears, and am at Renault, and I  get it.

Even at not-so-demanding tracks.

It seems to hurt car performance only slightly, relating to acceleration when gearing up at the higher gears.

Yeah Rich revs seems to be the issue.

Could it have something to do with amount of time on full throttle? i drive with full traction control so either full throttle or not. when you have to be carefull on  the throttle you spend a lot less time on 100 %. thoughts?
