Ai retirements

Recommended Posts

Do you mean actually blowing up in front of you, or just not retiring.....full stop?  I have had AIs retiring left right and centre, but haven't had a car that has had an engine blow up in front of me.......yet!!

They are still there, Ricciardo blew up right in front of me at the end of a safety car period earlier on today.

Retirements do still happen with the same frequency, at least in my experience.

By the way, is it possible for ME to experience mechanical issues? So far it's never happened.

It is but an engine blow-out would require driving with a lower gear for several sectors.. Minor problems can be suffered without that. But for the logic with engines, blow-outs are never going to happen. And it's stupid because championship fights are really unfair if AI can randomly have a engine blow-out but the player can't. It should be either or both.

At monaco I saw Nasr's engine let go and as he was slowing he got hit and flipped by Wherlein, both DNF.
That's pure realism right there! Wherlein did the exact same thing to Button at this year's Belgian GP...

What about other issues, like brakes and electronics? Can these happen to the player?

The only thing where the player can suffer from is engine wear.( little less power in the race )

i think it would be great if in 2017 the "simulation" damage include failures for the player.
in career give us then the option to do r&d on reliability.
i guess this will make alot of people satisfied.

when iam driving a Renault or some other shitty car give me brake issues, let me brake 50 meters earlier.
let me loose a gear, more drs issues and some other electronica failures.
oh and please even a blownout with a merc, would love to have that;)

I haven't heard of brake issues but some problems relating gearbox and DRS can happen. That's pretty much all I know but I haven't witnessed any of these myself.
