Before the internet and before every loud mouth with a computer had a voice, games would come out and that was it - we would never hear a thing from developers and there was no such thing as a patch. Developers really have no obligation to use the internet to interact with anyone after they have released a game.

Perhaps if you used the correct threads already created rather than making new ones to make angry comments, you may find some answers to your questions.  What is it that appears to be the problem for you and your game?

Back then, there was little need for patches because most games worked at launch - because they had to, because post-launch patching was more difficult.

And yet most developers utilize multiple 2-way channels (forums, Twitter, FaceBook, etc.). If they didn't want to interact with consumers, they could just post only announcements & ads on their website without any way for people to respond.

the new/this gen consoles has caused games to be made this way. Like it or not it is just the way it is and every single game of all types released on this gen has been that way so far.
