Hard to say how easy it is until we have used it, but I think the UI looks really smart. As has been said by others it looks to be a blend of DR and D4.

Interesting to see a on/off setting for 'unexpected moments'. Also there was another car off on the stage with either a blown radiator or engine. So Ai retirements confirmed.

Yes, seems to have struck a nice balance from DR1 easy and quick menus, to having some eye candy and I would call atmosphere.   I really dig the new service screens, from what I can tell, bigger teams get larger tents?  None the less there is a nice variety.

Thanks for the P1TV video link, I managed to snag some information on the Australian rally for DR2.0 thanks to some amazing split second video pausing skills.

I thought they did the feeling quite well, the problem was that you quickly learned the icy parts so there was never the same trepidation as the real event IMO.

I think it feels like a compromise. Sure, the snow parts had less grip, but it didn't force you to slow down enough imo.

The DS21 is listed as a "DS Automobiles DS21" instead of a Citroen DS21 ... That's quite stupid and I really hope this isn't some licensing shenanigans.

Of course it is - Citroen has tried to split the brand's. The DS3 ran WRC without Citroen badges in its last year too. If they hadn't split them Citroen would be in Formula E instead of WRC now, so it's a fair trade IMO.

Unfortunately I can't tell you guys if any parts of the DR2.0 Australian stages are based on real-life stages since NSW rallying is little out my knowledge area, lot more knowledgeable on my local WA rallies. However, I can probably at least give you the likely real-life inspiration behind the choice of locale, etc.

Well, the DS3 is a special case since it was born citroen, then went to DS while still in production. The DS21 is a 60+ years old car ... with a 5 years old brand stuck on it ...

True. But if they weren't trying so hard to split them Citroen would be in Formula E instead of WRC now, so it's a compromise I'm willing to make :tongue:

Quite likely that it is a licensing issue: the Citroen DS3 has appeared in the last two games purely as "DS3".

Trying to do this with New England too... there are similar parts, but nothing that says its this exact stage.  However New England doesn't have many places that are particularly unique.  There is a particular bridge that is photographed a lot, but not the one in the stage we see.  Concord pond is a great stage IRL but the scenery isn't particularly unique either.

I doubt it will be. Very hard to find a Group A Lancer these days!

The Lancer Evo X sound is very similar. Different engines but very similar. Right now neither are close to their real life counterparts. All Evos except maybe for the WRC 04 one sound mostly the same.

I'm definitely more excited by the Aston Martin than I was either the Mustang or Camaro as the Aston is a "real" R-GT car in my eyes.  

I wonder how far off the complete car list we are now? With the "obvious" missing cars (i.e. Group B rally) added the total would be at 52.

So the Polish stages are supposedly located in Łęczna county, which is pretty much halfway accross the country from where Rally Poland actually takes place. You might want to check out other Australian rallies because the stages we have probably aren't located in NSW either.

It is a possibility, but the mix of gravel and asphalt surfaces in-game matches the real-life Monaro Stages Rally's mix of gravel and asphalt. Additionally, the skybox, fauna, fences, obstacles (mention of bridges) and such also happen to be a pretty decent representation of those you would find in the Monaro Stages Rally.

Plus it doesn't come with the problem of being a current or former FIA WRC event, which makes it more likely to be a correct location name. That's just my opinion for now though, I'm going to keep on digging.
