I know there are a lot of rally locations in Europe, but I still think it would be cool to see Safari rally again, and maybe Japan or China.  These locations have some different scenery that I think would work in well with a AAA game.

I loved the wet tarmac of Japan in CMR 3 ! I would love for it to make a comeback :)

Just out of interest (because I know nothing of modern 'Safari'), do they have 20-30km stages such as fit the DR 'profile'? I'm guessing they must do because it's a WRC Candidate event this year I believe.

edit: yes they do: https://www.rally-maps.com/Safari-Rally-2018

Japan and China I can pick 20 rallies I'd rather see instead; there's enough variation that we'll never be fully satisfied by the 'classics' IMO. And those 'classics' outside Europe are New Zealand, Australia, Kenya and Argentina IMO. Maybe Ivory Coast but that never had the same fame as Kenya in my lifetime.

Japan can come with Toyota

Im just wondering of the Safari Rally managed to keep their iconic stages with the long straights.
This rally won't work until DiRT manages to get seriously long stages, because they can even be faster than Finland at some point, specially with the absence of proper hardcore damaging models. I have the sense that accidents in DR2.0 are still too forgiving even with hardcore mode enabled.
Bending a wheel or break the suspension is quite easy, but not in DR2.0, and it doesn't require serious visual damage.

I think Codemasters should explore this field a bit more and push the hardcore damage so people actually care a bit more of driving cleanly. Otherwise it's all about lapping times only, like in DiRT Rally.

yes canada for snow  ,japan ,  and  comeback to china , kenya and morocco  (  country from dirt 2 ) maybe turkey , zambia , south africa , brazil  USA ( tarmac too  rally because USA is tall ), india , quatar , mexico ,( i no find the video but cuba ) maybe rallye in france  too ( not only corsica ).

look  2:14, 2:46 ,3:26 , 5:04 ( grass road in forest  ) , 5:32 big bumpy gravel  ( is not rally video for cuba  ),
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8D94uZPKQcA

is true , to have different landscapes and environment would be well ( with passages in cities with festive effects (example when you pass in a city of Cuba you have the fireworks, or lampposts with different colors to show that it is an event, you listen people crying " go , go go " or otther ).

for france and europe you have spectator dress up as character ( example i watch video and you have funny guy dress up in pink rabbit ,  the horns  when  you  turn in hairpin . in france you listen " sanglier " if you  miss the turn  near to spectator .

for south africa  and vuvuzela after you finish the race  and before you start race

RodgerDavies  askings to codemasters ? i don't understand
I just mean you asked about 28 different countries in your last couple of posts. I think Codemasters could work for 10 years and not make all those!

I kinda want to see them turn the D:R stages into non-standard WRC stages by changing the environment and weather around without actually changing the road. Examples of that would be Monte in the summer and Wales in the snow.

The seasons in Forza Horizon 4 are practically 4 different maps (with many shared elements, but still). I don't think Codemasters could realistically do that.

Oscar97 ok ,maybe codemaster create 2 times again  same map  1 map for  summer or  autumn ,or spring   and another same  map for winter

Yeah, I don't think that will be possible. Awesome but not likely now.  Though It would help out getting mileage out of the stages.

But the original idea I think would be good for DLC as it would be different enough to not be a straight port

I don't know, I'd rather have them make completely new stages instead.

Montecarlo is unique and very appreciated thanks to its challenging and ever-changing conditions, that make tyre choice always a compromise and require maximum focus from the drivers to "read" the road ahead and the grip levels. In summer all of this would be lost, while (if Monte ever comes to DR2) I'd like to see all these feature expanded compared to DR2: tyre choice between slicks, winters and studded; realistic grip levels on the icy parts when you're in the wrong tyre (in WRC they tackle sections at walking speed when on slicks) and POSSIBLY changing conditions on the stage in-game

I'd be happy with Monte Carlo coming back with the extra weather factor. That means, the percentage of ice would be random and it wouldn't appear always in the same places (except when you get to the higher zones). Some patches of ice could be randomly generated in the road and that would give an interesting random factor to Monte Carlo, which is so characteristic for that.

Guess that would be enough, even if the stages were exactly the same. Even with the tires choice it'll be already a gambling.

@ChristinaMc or maybe @urgaffel
Do u know if DR2.0 will receive any decent support for Nvidia SLI like DR1 and D4 had please?

But for the ice part i was thinking more of a random variable outside of the random hazards. It would randomly place the ice on the road like if it was Your Stage generated, or like rain probability, whenever a monte carlo event would be started.

And since I mentioned rain, I hope that rain is able to be based on probabilities rather than just being able to either set sunny or rainy weather. If we have probabilities carrying over services, the tire gambling will be even more interesting.

I've put all DR2 locations on a map and all candidate events in grey (aka DR1 locations)
We are getting a lot more global rally experience in a month, which I like a lot!
If looking for further additions down the line though (assuming we get (some) DR1 content first) I would highly suggest looking wider than just Belgium or Ireland as it's all clustered in europe. More something like Azores or Tanzania or Japan or India or Canada (British Columbia) or some real desert rally like kuwait or qatar.
