I am sure its no different then now, but can anyone recall the stage lengths of D2 and D3.  If I remember right it seems that in D2 some of the stages where really long (utah comes to mind).  These where back when trailblazer was in, still miss that baja type of run, going flat out for 10 mins makes it feel like they where fairly long.  Could be rosey memories.  In all honesty for the amount of time I have anymore the length of stages we have today are really not bad and I think a Safari stage would work.  MAYBE if they could pull off 3 long stages since the landscape is rather all the same.

That stage does remind me a lot of some parts of the Condroz rally stages.

In this video the simularities are uncanny from 0:35 to 1:10 for example (slightly more bumpy and muddy though):

Also the speed he's going at on the extremely narrow road between 8:53 and 9:17 is mindboggling!
