austinb 37 Posted February 13, 2019 Unsure if this has already been noticed, but i see a 306 Maxi on the DirtRally2 website: http://dirtrally2.com/ It's in the image behind the "Rise to the challenge" section. Is this an old photo used accidentally, or a legit 2.0 photo that shouldn't be there?

austinb 37 Posted February 13, 2019 (edited) If the web page loads slowly, the background picture comes up before the pictures and text in front of it. So I had a split second of just that picture. Everything is loading instantly now so I cant get a screen of it without the stuff in front. EDIT: You got it nice! ^^ Edited February 13, 2019 by austinb

StratosZero 83 Posted February 13, 2019 It's DiRT 4 Wales, unfortunately. It's probably a mistake by whoever added the image to the website. Not in the know about the car list and such.

pigloaf 236 Posted February 14, 2019 Now that's some juicy Gossip. It's either an honest oversight from someone, or a beautifully laid hint for the future. Either way, there's no way we're letting this one go 😂

JZStudios 631 Posted February 14, 2019 5 hours ago, AIPacino said: Yeah, the Fiesta wins in handling, on rallies like Greece and Monte Carlo, but then it loses big time in rallies with more straights like Germany, Finland, Sweden. The most bizarre difference was in Finland where you can see just how much more power the Polo has on 6th gear, it reaches top speed a lot faster. Also I lost to a Polo in Germany with perfect driving by 9 seconds throughout 6 stages, and after watching the replays I lost it all on the straights. I messed up a stage in Greece, that's a fact and probably what decided the tournament, but I could've easily won Germany if it wasn't for the lack of torque. I'm driving on the left, that's just Wales though. Driving in DR with triples is such a cool feeling. The hairpins are awesome, and racing along on Greece being able to see the drop makes it surprisingly more intense. 2

Dirt 4 wasn't as pleasant sadly, I felt that the foliage in the peripheral vision(mostly out the left window) just wasn't flying by as smooth as in DR? It annoyed me. Rygar86 67 Posted February 14, 2019 (edited) Time Stamped Video below: Really makes me wish that Codemasters still made Super Special Stages in their rally games! Imagine the online tournaments that could be created if each location in the game had a super special! You could create a whole world championship of just Super Specials for some quick and dirty rally action on the go. Set it up as a knockout tournament and fight your way to the top against other online opponents. Within an hour or so you could play out the whole thing and have an outcome in a more bit sized rally experience. With some good replay/streaming implementation it could be a great eSports experience with a lot of potential me thinks. Yes RX offers a lot of this but its still not rally and for some variety and more pure rally experience, I think it would be a lot of fun. Maybe I will get into RX a bit more this time seeing as how they have more tracks, but if I'm honest, I have barely given it a thought since DR 2.0 was announced. But thinking about Super Specials has me excited (even if it's just a dream at this stage), so maybe there is something to be said for that or maybe its just me? Are there really that few tarmac rallies in the UK? Pretty much. Up until last year, closing public roads for rallying wasn't possible in law, so we have no closed road events. Weirdly, there was one (Jim Clark Rally in Scottish Borders) but it hasn't run for a few years since an accident killed two people who were (incorrectly) reported to be spectators. Within the UK, it's possible in Northern Ireland and debatably (as to whether it's UK or not|) Isle of Man, but not within Great Britain (the mainland). There are a few that run on private land, like Epynt, and some tarmac parts of gravel stages on private estates. Two of the rounds of the normal British Championship are outside the UK, in Cork and Ypres, for similar reasons. Also, you have the best roads for tarmac rallying in the world. That's why me and lots of other Brits visit Bastogne, Ypres, Condroz etc each year 😉

I've only missed one Ypres Rally in over 20 years because I was out of the country. I know the lay of the land very way and have a few great spots outside the spectator zones.

I'd love to do ypres, don't think I'll get to this year, but next year definitely. Britain has some stunning tarmac roads, I spend a fair amount of time driving them (until my car decided to die yesterday). Hopefully we can revive the tarmac scene as the Jim Clark and isle of man (not in Britain) are fantastic events. I believe the isle of Mull rally is being held again this year which I can't recommend enough to people, as the place is spectacular, and the roads are great to drive when they reopen!
