DocStrangelove 165 Posted April 24, 2019 I just hope you understand that my joke was about place 400 in AI challenge where you are at least #30 even if you retire right at the start.

Came 80 something on another challenge tho. Keep it up and you’ll improve 🙂 I’m on an Xbox controller and have set a few #1 times on Daily Challenges, so it’s possible to be quick. DocStrangelove 165 Posted April 24, 2019 (edited) I use sensitivity 90, linearity 7 and deadzone 3. Deadzone on extremely high values is a common default setting in many games (at least on PC) because of the X360 controller with its low quality sticks. With an X360 controller, even a deadzone of 10 may make your game steer/move around all the time without touching a stick. My settings are: Sensitivity: 100 Linearity: 4 Deadzone: 2 Got a guide here that explains all the settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SZ7oUsxd80&list=PLTAAI2yAhCqtNcOeA8Ow8lN4UvxwnLMmz&index=18&t=0s Deadzone should be as close to 0 as you can get without having "stick drift" on your controller. My controller's left stick is starting to show wear on the sensors so I had to up it to 15. Linearity of 4 is good for slower cars but in some it might be too snappy, so you could drop it to 3.
cafe5150 245 Posted April 24, 2019 (edited) Just put linearity to 3 and it's better again. Nice. Even made the Mk2 Escort less wild(for me anyway) Edited April 24, 2019 by cafe5150
Rallycameraman 241 Posted April 25, 2019 Well Sweden is like playing DR1 all over again, if not worse. Clip a snowbank slightly and your sent in to a monumental roll. Getting quite disillusioned with this game now. Time to move on to other things for a bit. Laters peeps. 1

Of course they test them before releasing them, but unfortunately a lot of feedback from DR1 was asking for the snowbanks to be less 'magnetic' (i.e. soft and dragging the car in to them). Feels to me like this feedback has been implemented. I'm not a fan of the changes to snowbanks either, personally I think the DR1 snowbank 'feel' would be perfect with the new handling, but c'est la vie; overall the game is still a big improvement and proof that they're listening to feedback and I'm enjoying the added variety. Looking forward to my next career championship generating to maybe get the Sweden stages in. 1
SkyRex 417 Posted April 25, 2019 These are the most realistic snow banks I've ever seen in a virtual environment. I don't know what ya people expect, they are not guard-rails you can HotWheels your way around the stage. Also in real life those banks are often hiding real rocks or guards below them, so you gonna hit something hard anyway if you poke deep. Look real life snow bank spins: Look how to drive DR2 Sweden: 1

Changes in temperature and weather can make them work in totally different ways, and what you can get away with once will probably be lethal the next time. That said, flying cars aren't a thing we see that often, exept maybe for Lappi this year 1

Patriotism, if you will. Or the licensing offices find it easier to sign contracts with people with their same language...
