Well, the 208 has quite some differences.
- New safety nets as you said is one thing, but... 
- Completly remodelled steering column,
- Completly remodelled gear stick shifter (now connected to the steering column, instead of located on the tunnel)
- respositioned screens (motec and gear selector)
- Reconfigurated steering wheel (different buttons and tags)
- Different rear (braking) lights

I think the 2018 208 cockpit was still a lot based on the DiRT 4 version. So that might explain the big differences for the 2019 version. Looking at this onboard video, the interior from the Hansen (Peugeot Sport) 208 is actually very similar to the R2/R5 version. It is interesting the 3D artists not just used the R5 cockpit (which maybe now they used some parts from)

With the Audi S1 the two differences I see are:
- The safety nets
- The cable connected to the shifting lights. 

So the Audi S1 has less changes, but on the other side it looks like it will get a lot more real liveries compared to the 208. (6 vs. 2 as it stands now)

Well, new liveries are for :
- Ford Escort MKII
- MG Metro 6R4
- BMW M2 Competition
- Porsche 911 RGT
Didin't check the rallycross cars...

Anyway, that's 3 D+ liveries for the MKII, while these cars still have a poor livery choice :
- Skoda Fabia R5
- Citroen C3 R5
- Peugeot 205 T16
- Datsun 240Z
- Renault R5 turbo
- Lancia Stratos
- Alpine A110
- DS21

And from DLCs :
- Subaru Impreza (2000cc)
- Fabia Rally
- Focus RS 2001

would be nice in the next game if they do try and balance some of the speed differences of classes. some cars are brilliant to drive but something in its class maybe far faster so people just wont drive em for that reason. which is a shame as often a lot of the slower cars in there class are the most fun cars to drive.

I just wish they did daily / weekly challenges with no car choice. At least we could get some decent 240Z or DS21 contests.

That would make sense: I believe Peugeot Sport used R5 208 as the basis for the WRX cars.

The new liveries seem interesting 🙂 

Also, it seems the Audi S1 EKS RX quattro 2019 has received a new engine sound, which seems closer to the real sound. Maybe @tbtstt can confirm? I have no idea if the 2018 version got this new sound aswell.

This is exactly what I thought when I tried to play the game yesterday. I was not playing for more than one week, then had to update the game and... I was not able to finish a single stage in USA. It was really strange feeling for me like there was no grip at all. I don't know why is that. And I also noticed that in USA there was no "slowing down" effect when I was going through the watersplash so it got me thinking that maybe something has changed. I was really disappointed yesterday while trying to play. Maybe it's just me after the break but your question is interesting.

probably just you after a break.

the watersplash not-always-slowing-you-down thing has been there since the launch of the game. it just affects you differently depending on the car (ie the weight), the speed you're going, the angle you hit it, etc.

don't see why they'd change the physics with no notice less than a week before the quarter- and semi-final rounds of the world series... also it's pretty obvious that the player base would go nuts if they did it.

It's completely normal 😄 I did 10 day break and after it I wasn't able to complete anything. Currently I play different game and hope one day I will come back again. It's about time. I can invest around 3 hours per day max which is not bad at all but you can't play two games.

These 2019 RX cars are really enjoyable to drive. Well done CM and thanks ! It was always a bit annoying to drive the Year N-1 cars each time. 

Quick question : why can't we have a team championship standing in our career or RX mode ? it could be a good add in a future patch release and I don't think it is hard to do. I might also be wrong. 😁

Edit = I was hoping more 208 WRX 2019 liveries like the Pailler's one but I am too really demanding.

I wrote it here before so I didn't want to propagate another game again 😄 It's Forza Horizon 4. Could look like arcade but if you don't use assists and stay with RWD cars it's almost Motorsport physics with higher grip. And the whole game is very skill-based so you can improve in many areas. For instance, I can drift very good too but tarmac racing is my main discipline.

I'm not sure I agree. the biggest differences between the best and worst in each class are only a couple of seconds on most stages. people just pick the faster car because they think it'll make a difference, but someone like me (usually mid-tier 2) is still going to get destroyed by a top player in the worst car in the class.

since you only get one shot at it, one big mistake on a stage will more than offset the time you would lose over a whole event of 7-10 stages.

agreed. the festive challenges do this on occasion at least. there was one earlier where you had to take the Megane RX, and the current one in Wales only allows the Mini (not particularly interesting choices though, I know),

R-GT: Camaro, Porsche

Group B 4WD: MG Metro, RS200, Audi (at least when not on tarmac)

Group A: Escort Cosworth

All really nice and fun cars but not the kind of cars you pick when you want to set the fastest possible time. Having events where you compete with one of these and can't pick the faster cars in the same class would be cool.

Also Focus 2007 (has exactly 1 decent livery), kit cars (all), Lancia 037, BMW M1, Opel Manta, Group B RX (all). This design would look good on Focus 2007 or Citroen C4, way too modern and loud for vintage cars like Metro and Mk2 imo. The previous red/yellow and baby blue liveries would be a better fit for kit cars, Group B RWD, Focus 2001, Fabia. Though Fabia needs engine sounds rather than a livery

Not releasing DLC liveries for DLC cars is kind of illogical to me. It's like not including any DLC in online events that require DLC to participate

Good luck! I got it yesterday after far too much trying, couldn't get it with the Audi unfortunately so had to use the Pug 😞

Few hints: if it's a good lap obviously go flat out over the finish, you don't wanna be braking and miss it by a tenth! Also if you're getting frustrated you can be a bit, erm, "flexible" with track limits... your time won't save on the leaderboard but you will get the cheevo 🙂
