Along with a number of former Codemasters Employees.

Pretty much everybody I know at Motorsport Games (except the Virtually Entertained crew that ran the World Series) is ex-Codemasters 😉

May I ask @PJTierney is there a reason why are paid DLC Cars not getting Special Livery? are those to expensive to licence? or something else is the reason?

So he's back in GB?

Is it a game developer? Or just e-sport organizer? Can't get my head around it :classic_blink:

Yes it appears he is, lists that he is in Southam/Silverstone area.  Which IS confusing since that is their esports hq.  I am not sure what he is doing as a Creative Director there.

Here is Motorsports Games About info:

Motorsport Games is a truly global organisation, with offices situated around the world. The global HQ is based in the USA in Miami, FL and hosts the Digital Marketing and Product Development teams. Also in the USA is the 704 Games team that work on the NASCAR Heat franchise who are centralised in the heart of the NASCAR world in Charlotte, NC but with an additional development team in Orlando, FL. We are also fortunate to have a new studio working on the latest technology for our future products situated in Moscow, Russia. The European headquarters is part of the Motorsport Network and Autosport offices in London, UK. Finally, our racing esports specialist event team are just metres away from the main entrance to the home of British motorsport at Silverstone Circuit.

Since I do not follow esports, I also have learned that Codemasters is considered a partner.

For Focus 2007, i know @PJTierney said once that the Focus will be the only one to get Special livery due low count of liveries.. thats why i did ask that question, as not any other Paid DLC will have special livery.

The BMW M2 was not paid DLC, it came free to game, and its not protected for Custom Liveries (and the Paid DLC cars are protected)

Base game (and/or free) cars were chosen to allow Season owners to give them a more premium feel.

We did the Focus because it got a lot of demand and didn't have many to begin with 😉

They ran the World Series for us 🙂

Although I like the idea of the World Series. I rather see monthly e-sport events and challenges where can earn liveries or maybe a wheel of Thrustmaster or other goodies from Codies partners or tickets for a World RX event. And than there are prizes for the winners, but also for the competitors. So a bit more how RaceRoom do where they also have competitions for certain areas in the world.

an other example is the iRacing Rallycross, but than also need a livery editor like iRacing to attract esport teams. Codies can ofcourse do it with a Rally event.

i think that overall will attract more players for a much longer timeframe, rather than the shorter World Series time frame.

Even without any kind of rewards, let's get some kind of long running official championship. The official clubs are cool, but they don't feel like they mean much. Let's get a mega championship going and have CM doing event recaps talking about the drivers. Use these official clubs to pick the drivers for the next big event, or at least some of the drivers for the next big event. Let people show they have consistency and endurance to make it to the end - and doing recaps of each event while picking a few drivers to talk about will help build a huge community following.

@PJTierney any plans to add the Ford/M-Sport Fiesta R5 MkII to DiRT Rally 2.0?

Don't forget it's little brother, the R2. It's apparently also a very good car.

Ah yes, I forgot we had the Mk7 and not the Mk8 Fiesta in the R2 category... That would go nicely with the new Peugeot 208 Rally4

Does that mean their new game will be like CM titles, but not on horrendously old engine?

Very intriguing.

Hmm. These kinds of "global organization" game companies never end up well.

We need R2 2019 for Jon, when he is going to JWRC. No doubt! 😅 and also I really hope for Fiesta R5 (mk2) mk8, when we have got so many Fiestas for RX 🙄😅

The MK8 Fiesta R5 is a favorite of Jon and he had pushed the team to put it in game. Also with Ford as kinda long term partner and official licensed product, I think it might a big chance to see it.

To be honest I’d rather get an actual new car rather than just a facelifted version of what we already have

haha, a nice challenge with a good reward. Thanks codies.

Fun though, they are from the WRC, but i think the official WRC game doesn't even have them 😄

EDIT, another livery that would be great for a challenge is that of Chris Ingram (FIA ERC 2019 champ), because how he managed to finished the season and needed a crowdfuning project for it.

A new generation model is definitely not a facelift. A facelift was what M-Sport did with its Fiesta WRC half-way through the 2014 season. New front end and barely anything mechanical. Different ball game with the new Fiesta R5, doesn't even sound the same.
