Yeah by the sounds of it, I won't be able to play it for a little while as my controller (or pad, being grammatically correct) is at home and I'm at uni :(

Actually, the word controller in that sentence is grammatically correct :P Not gonna bother explaining here, since most will be like "here we go again" xD

And I kind of expected that the update will roll out on Monday. Releasing it on Friday is kind of risky, since if something will mess up we would have to wait till Monday to get it fixed. Also there hasn't been an update before that did roll out on Friday if I remember correctly. Though please do correct me if I'm wrong here.

There has, but not a public one. A community test version once rolled out on a Friday and it completely broke the online.
Which was pretty bad since the whole point was to test PvP!
If something had happened like that with a public release, it would have been a full-blown emergency with staff going in during the weekend.

So no, a big public release is never going to happen on a Friday or during the weekend. 

Monday? Maybe, but I personally wouldn't look any sooner than Tuesday.

What i would like to see is best of both styles. Realism in handling, physics etc + more depth like good career or even story mode

Now i need to win that lottery big time to make it happen (at least would be easier)

This was/is already known, they were/are already 100% aware that the current FFB on v2 cars is broken before they released it in the last pack.
