Ford Focus RS should replace the Fiesta in the 2010s, and for the R4 should be the Lancer Evo X & IX, and also Impreza STi N14. Then the current 2010s Fiesta would be in the 2015s class, or just removed from the game, or perhaps they'll just leave it in the 2010s.

If it helps I drove one of the cars coming in modern masters back last November, and it was pretty awesome then!

That's one thing that we can be sure of. I don't think that Renault will make it into the game cause it's not so popular, so it will be 2xSubaru's and 2xMits.) but R4 are pretty same level (and were competing) with S2000, maybe there's a small chance for this group?

I'm wondering if Codies didn't missed something related to licensing and have gotten acknowledged of that just now before release... that licensing is the biggest pain in the ass for both gamers and developers. Does it always have to be about $?

Anyway, can't wait for new Focus and keeping my thumbs crossed for this weeks release
My suggestions: no chance for S2000s in this update (unfortunately), or achievements would have been added for them. R4 will be the new class and I imagine there'll be a couple of additions to others.

Also doubt that R4 will have four cars. "An" Evo has been specified before I believe, so I would guess it will be either the IX or the X, along with one or two Subarus; I'm guessing the N14 is a shoe-in (seeing as the model already exists for RX) and maybe one other, although I wouldn't count on it.

I highly doubt anything's been 'missed' with regards to licencing. You can be sure that most of them will require a final sign off on the models and their portrayal so it's natural that once all is finished they still need these before they can release anything. I imagine they're just waiting on these and to make any minor changes that are requested as a result.

My biggest question is to what class the Ford will be in; 2000s or 2010s.
S2000 definetely wouldn't appear in this update, but maybe in future...there's a lack of less powerful cars that could be use for new players (if someone doesn't prefer that crazy old FWD Mini).

I've thought they've confirmed two Evo's from Mitsubishi?

I hope so with licensing, but business guys could you hurry up a little bit? ;)

2000s, or they will split it into 2000-2005 and 2005-2009.
EDIT: Well from the timeline posted above we can be quite sure it's going to be 2010s....+

We'll maybe get the matching '06/7 Impreza to accompany the Focus, and maybe one other from the era to create another WRC class?  I'd love to see a modified 2.5 Mk2 Escort too, the sound alone would be immense!

I think we will get the R4 class with 3 cars, plus the focus in the 2010's.
Hmmm... any surprises within this new R4 class or nothing out of the ordinary (Mitsus + Scoobies)?

I would like to see a Ford Fiesta R2 they are pretty popular over here in the US and perform pretty well.  Seems like a great starter car.

Not only in the US. The Peugeot 208 R2/ Opel Adam R2/ Fiesta R2 are very popular among the Juniors.

I would guess that there is more than that.  If we get 2 cars with the last stage pack, then a stand-alone car pack should hopefully be more than 4 cars!

I wouldn't mind just four cars, really. We have more than enough already in my opinion. I'm much more excited for the v2 physics on the Group A & Group B cars! Seriously can't wait to drive the v2 Sport Quattro around.

Am I the only one who would want an Audi S1 for the RX? It would probably be the most modern car in this update xD

On a side note, there's extra Hillclimb cars in the Noble Gases that they seem to have dropped entirely, or at least is no longer shown on the timeline, so I'm not sure how accurate this would be.

Quite a few of us would love it, but it was confirmed ages ago we were not going to get that car.
RX content is now complete as well.

The description states 'a whole new class of cars' indicating that it's just one class (R4). Although I would like to see more R classes

R5 & S2000 would be really awesome, especially with the way S2000 cars sound

We won't see all of those cars on the list in the game obviously. It's a list of cars that the CM team wants into the game, and so a really good guideline for us to speculate about. Especially since all the cars that did end up in the game are also on that list. Say for example they couldn't bring 2/3 of the R1-R3 cars into it because of licensing issues, they wouldn't really bother with making a new class for just one car probably. I think it is pretty safe to say that they'll stay with all the classes that are currently in the game + the new R4 class and we'll mostly see additions to the existing classes from here on out.

The big question of the week for me is:  Will there be the 2015 WRX STI R4 ? Would be pretty modern too...
My guess(wish) for the update:
R4:
Evo X
WRX STI Hatch
WRX STI '15 R4

2010's:
VW Polo WRC

2000's or 2010's:
Focus RS WRC
06/07 Impreza STI WRC

let's see how much i hit right with this

(Some weeks ago I also would've guessed on modern Hillclimb cars like the Suzuki SX4, but I'm no longer so sure about that)

I could SWEAR they had a hillclimb update on the timeline that seems to have since been removed. I remember doing Pikes Peak, then checking if there would be any additions to it, and there was a planned addition of at least cars. Let's be honest, one track and three cars makes it kind of, well, boring. And I like PP.

For those looking at the office wall (the so called "Periodic Table of DiRT"), it has been stated quite a few times before that the wall is merely a wishlist of the devs, a reference of what they would like to see in a DiRT game. It does NOT mean all cars in the wall will be featured and cars not included in the wall may appear.

As for what I think the Modern Masters will contain, it will have 6 cars:

R4:
Subaru Impreza R4 (Either Prodrive or JRM, one of the more recent models)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X R4
2000s:
Ford Focus RS WRC 2006
Citroën C4 WRC 2007
2010s:
DS Automobiles DS3 WRC (2013 or older)
VW Polo R WRC 2013

BTW, has anyone noticed the slip of "Citroën" when Paul divided all manufacturers in-game by country? I sure did, and bear in mind DS Automobiles is separate and was also there.

Would love to see the PP stages (and reverse options) available for custom rally, but I believe either that or allowing rally cars in hillclimb mode will come at one point. Hopefully both.

However, I'm pretty certain there was never a 'hillclimb update' scheduled on the timeline. Personally, I'm glad for that as I prefer the rally content.

Well the funny thing is, to me it seems like they could do that fairly easily, but they've kind of said it's not happening. I feel like they released PP and everyone hates hillclimb so much for some reason that they basically pulled the plug on it.

So, a few things i'd like to say here;
1) Looks pretty plausible, but where/why would you get/know this?
2) I still don't think that they'd add a second Focus to the same class (2000's) so really can't see that happening, mostly from a gameplay standpoint.
3) Remember they can't mention WRC, but the cars do appear to exist if they're old enough, so i buy the 2013 and older part.
4) Yes, yes i did notice that split he made, i thought it was very interesting, but didn't think further because i was out of the loop re the DS Automobiles.  I literally *just* looked that up, i had no idea, i always assumed the DS3 in RX was just cleverly named as i've always known it as Citroen.  According to Wiki, that change happened after i left the UK and it really does appear to be exactly what the Honda/Acura split is in the States.
