Hate to be the negative nancy of the gossip but I personally really hope its not a car or livery.  We have a great selection of some of the best rally cars of all time already, and modders can do any livery for PC users.  I hope it's something that changes gameplay/feature of the game, or new location/stages.  Anything other than that I can't really get too excited about. 

If we got 1 new long stage for every location, or New Zealand or something then yes I would be ecstatic.. but a car or livery, no.  The car roster is already fantastic and modders make liveries 2 days after a new car is released.  I don't think I'm alone when I say I truly hope this is plans for new rally locations and stages, or in the very least plans to expand on the core game like adding proper multiplayer to rally or something.  I just can't get excited about another Subaru or a livery.

Can we make a pinned post at the top of the forum saying cars that won't be included in DiRT Rally? No more Citroens and no Toyotas.

Toyota is more than clearly impossible. Seeing as how much issues getting C4 was and how many times Paul mentioned that the DS3 WRC is impossible... well, also not happening. Beetles are also not happening.

So my top 5 looks something like this:

- Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI
- Skoda Octavia RS
- Skoda Fabia S2000

I was not trying to be super realistic. Only wishes. Being realistic the most probably is not seeing any new car in 9 months, only the Renaults. In 9 months if SLRE and WRC 5 sales poorly and Dirt Rally do it extremely well nobody can be sure of nothing. Maybe even there are changes in Toyota or Citroen minds. If we have to be pesimistic there is a big chance to not see more content for the game...

Hmm what i do notice every where, and also in the gossip thread,
Is that everyone wants new rallystages or rallycars etc, but no one is mentioning Pike Peak cars tracks or More Rallycross cars/ tracks, its more focused on the Rally part.

Isnt it a good idea in that case to drop Pike Peak and concentrate on just Rally and Rallycross?
In that case u can add more RX championship circuits, more rallies. = Win, Win for everyone

Dont get me wrong, Pike peak is legendary, but to be honest, not that wanted as Rally or Rallycross these days.

Nope, 'cause its a wishlist and is also important to keep those cars in peoples minds for the future, ya silly negative nancy.

If Paul can say Porsche in the DiRT Show, we can say whatever we like in a wish list too! :)

I'll dispute that on a few points. For one thing, the DiRT Rally forums are rather tight nit and a very very small sample size of the most hardcore rally fans.
Most people do not play DiRT Rally with a wheel, but the ratio of wheel users who are active in this particular forum is around about 90%.
This is not a good place to sample DiRT Rally players at large.
Being able to drive other cars on Pikes peak consistently remains one of the most requested features.
Pikes Peak was also heavily requested after being dropped from DiRT 2 and 3.
People tend stop asking for something once they've got it. :)
As for expanding Hill Climb, most of us in this forum know that's not happening beyond an all gravel version.
We've got reason to believe the 208 Pikes Peak was planned, but the deal fell through, leaving Codies in the lurch with an all-tarmac version of the track and nothing appropriate to drive up it.
The lack of Toyota means no Tacoma or Celica. 
The Suzuki Escudo and SX4 were mentioned a lot more when Pikes Peak was released, but that's fizzled out with the general realisation that Hill Climb seems to be somewhat finalised.
And that's the thing. It's finalised. Just dropping it isn't going to affect the other disciplines.

pikes peak is a very small percentage of players.then comes rally cross. most here are here for rally .

i think we will just be getting renault cars. maybe something extra.i guess we will see something soon.the console game must be nearly done as there isnt that long to go.including testing times in-between cant be much more added.

i would be happy  if they'll  make full gravel  and add a   208 t16 pp     that reasonably enough imo

With the right support and online features rallycross could be frickin awesome! Full events in online leagues would kill.

Indeed. The main issue with Rallycross as of now (excluding the infinite loading screen) is that... there's just nothing to do in it. Some ladders or even more advanced event setups and RX would be really enjoyable. Heck, maybe I could start some RX Forums Cup or something along the lines xD

Youtube compression is a bugger, so I'd go to YT directly and put it in 1080p, full screen.
Seems to only happen in the chase cameras.
The snow particles are much denser and completely consistent on bumper, bonnet, dash and cockpit cams, so that might explain why it's not been mentioned before on here.
Such blatant favouritism by you lot, lol. :P 
This was on Monte, Pra d'Alart.
You can also see how it's ok after going around the first hairpin, but after the second, heading in the opposite direction again, it's on/off/on/off

DiRT Rally and Assetto Corsa may not be pure competition, but they are both racing games with a focus on simulation, they've both come out of Steam Early Access and both gained support and funding to bring the game to consoles.

So Assetto Corsa's launch date towards the end of April may to some extent compete for sales with DiRT Rally.

I do wonder what the sales expectations are for DiRT Rally on PS4 and XB1... From what we have heard the management is very pleased with sales on Steam and I think in one of Absolute Rally podcasts Paul said that liftime expected sales were already beaten...!

Right now DiRT Rally on SteamSpy is showing as almost 250 000 sales.  What would be the rule of thumb? Steam sales x 4 gives you console sales?

I reckon DiRT Rally will shift 1 million on PS4 :)
