So... with @KickUp being tight lipped about the trucks and buggies (especially being able to take them on rally stages) I'm interested in the damage too. In one of the game videos the guy clearly hits a few banks, signs, and fences but there didn't seem to be much visual change. Can't tell you guys how much time I spent watching the spectacular crashes in Dirt 2 over and over and over in slow motion... from 80 different angles... any chance of that resurfacing?
Also, I believe I saw that time of day and weather are now a separate option correct? So that means even more environment variety.
One last thing, based on that picture a few pages back (Probably should've checked to see if it was a "generated" stage or a set stage, but it looked a bit like maybe the geographical terrain is static and the roads are randomly generated on top and shrinkwrapped to the terrain... probably wrong, but that is a pretty "simple" way to do it. You wouldn't have to make premade landscape tiles, just a sort of open world.

No. We think we know how to simulate it but we can't do it visually yet. One for the future.

A bit of both but let's just say it's very hard to convince people that we need another Mk2 Escort.

Truck and Buggies are unlikely to be run on Rally stages. 
Don't judge the visual damage on what you have seen in a single video. The cars are significantly quicker to damage than they were in DR both visually and mechanically.

@KickUp Speaking of cars, it's really cool that you've got a proper Group N Impreza, is it safe to assume it's eternal rival, the Evo X, will be along for the ride as well?

How is damage repairs being handled this time? Still with a percentage bar where each % increment is a certain amount of time? Or will you have to replace certain unrepairable parts such as tires, as you wouldn't be able to repair a tire?

Can't give you a straight answer but I'm pretty sure the percentage system is gone. You will probably have to change parts or try to "quickfix" them with the risk of later failure. This is speculation upon whats been said and seen. I guess @Hatward can answer you if he feel like it ;)

1 Will D4 support mixed surfaces?
2 Could you tell us more about tyre modeling please? Do we get to choose tires? If so, do we get to choose wet/ med/ dry compound, or does it go deper?
3 Any info on mod support?
4 On HC mode are grip levels similar to Dirt Rally, or is grip lowered? Also do cars have inertia? Can we go fully sideways with 4x4 when full speed without getting thrown into the inside of the corner every time?

I think it's a great thing! 

Iv a 60 hours per week job, a wife & 2 kids to sort before my gaming.  It's really hard to compete with a student who's off for summer & has nothing else to do but rinse & repeat my favourite stage!

Its going to sort the rally men from the circuit repeaters  :)

1. Yes, but Gravel vs. tarmac will only be seen in DirtFish and Rallycross
2. Maybe, probably not though. Currently we select the best tyre based on the variables that present themselves at the previous service area (weather, surfaces). 
3. No info on it but we don't plan to limit it. 
4. Grip is the same across all the sim mode but dependant on surface (obviously) other variables become more challenging in Fearless mode. Professional drivers have advised us on the grip and the feel so we are happy with what we have. 
5. It's very complex. What is exposed in the tuning is the tip of the iceberg.

so is the tarmac a lot better than dirt rally ? that was one of the achilles heels .

It felt much improved in November, and I believe it has been improved upon since then.

It's quick fix, repair or replace. Not all parts can be replaced. The level of repair will determine the likelihood of that part failing later on. The time taken will depend on your crew. 

Part durability translates into our used car market, so you can choose to buy a sh1t box that needs all its parts replacing or a totally rebuilt car ready to race (if you can find one).
