Just wondering.P.S: writing Typing 'note' as 'road' was a genuine mistake that I decided not to erase completely. So was that error in that last sentence. You won't be catching up other cars that are still running on stage. Will there just be broken down cars or will you pass crashed out cars as well? On the roof and such? Maybe, no promises at this stage. Obviously not a big deal, but would be cool ;)
nystedt88 0 Posted February 6, 2017 KickUp What about a RWD class in rallycross? Is that something you thought about? That would be great as DLC

Rallycameraman 241 Posted February 6, 2017 Talking about DLC 4 months before the game is due to be released is a bit stupid. As Paul said, if they started saying DLC will be coming, people will turn around and say why wasn't it in there from launch.

The only reason I asked about dlc in the q and a was for future locations...not day one dlc...I in fact hate that very much as it should be implemented into the game before release. My question was more based to be say could we get added locations say 3-6-9-12 months from release. It would be nice to have more than 5 rally locations and to end up with more tracks across the board. Dirt Rally is an amazing game that has staying power with most rally players...think of how much better it could have been with 3-4 more locations and a few car packs? TuliRally 0 Posted February 6, 2017 I would suggest to use Normal and Simulation. Should not be a problem to most casual players to be playing normal or to be labeled as "The Normal Guy". If it still is too much for someone to be a mere "normal" then they are more than advised to learn it the hard way (Aka. Fun Way)@KickUp This next one would mean a world to me if added.Any change of this time for you, to provide presets for what you (or some other IRL rally driver that you can get to help you) thinks that is the most realistic FFB & wheel behaviour settings for as many of supported wheels as possible. Because all your hard work for physics and ffb (at least in my case, having no real life knowledge) will be flushed down the toilet if the player has wheel and in-game settings wrong. (Dirt rally has so many different settings presets and tips out there, some even from me for Logitech DFGT, that even with one wheel you can get totally different feelings and driveability). I would love the fuzzy feeling when i know that this settings you *CM provided, would be the most realistic behaviour for this wheel that it can produce. This does not even have to be shipped with the game at launch. You can put them in this forum, or to the game with updates afterwards. :) <3 Edit: As in "you" above, i mean of course Codemasters as a company. Ps. No dissing for the casual player meant.. gfRally 449 Posted February 6, 2017 Since D4 includes Dirtfish rally school i think this is a good read about tires:http://www.dirtfish.com/blog/rally-tires-what-makes-them-special/?utm_campaign=Informational+Articles&utm_source=hs_email&utm_medium=email&utm_content=42059374&_hsenc=p2ANqtz--LXClmjnTShhF3gDGU3mLdgmmbEnqcKgrNi3pRL7Ml0x3yPK-kx-7IPYV0KijOPEaoEI_D_cgk1Tn8vmgJ_VvRQtxzCg&_hsmi=42059374
RallyDriven 398 Posted February 6, 2017 Personally I think it should be casual and simulation. I think it's a bit clearer than gamer.
F2CMaDMaXX 505 Posted February 6, 2017 Paul is right that their research showed to use gamer and simulation, think about it.You have to look at it from being each side, if you're a simmer, then you will see the other option as being casual. If you're the other side, then you will not want to be classed as casual and you'll see the other side as simulation.Gamer is a standard tag it's normal and infers what is nominal out there.Simulation is just that. Just imagine a guy that bought DiRT 4 to have a good time playing a Racing game on his PS4, is he a gamer? No, he is a casual player. I think the word Casual involves the Gamer that doesn't know WTF is a Scandinavian flick, and the guy that just want to drive cool cars through tricky roads with his controller without dying in the attempt
Ruben Correa Alves 28 Posted February 6, 2017 I think both 'gamer' and 'casual' might give the wrong idea to some. A lot of gamers on that side might think that the 'gamer' mode just means all assists on, same for 'casual'. Certainly lots of people wont read the descriptions of both modes so will just select the one with the name they think is right. Maybe call it 'Basic' and 'Simulation'. That way you are not talking about a group of players but rather the physics itself.
KevM 44 Posted February 6, 2017 @KickUp - as I sit here, feeling like Craig Breen, doing the Grp B weekly in a down-on-spec car, to unlock the final upgrades on my wee Metro (for the 2nd time round), I'm thinking, will the Cross-Platform capabilities of D4 mean that my Profile, Credits & Garage etc, will be available to me no matter what I play on? It's all stuck on bloody Steam, but I had to start the grind from scratch on Xbox :(I know that could lead to duplication on leaderboards, but you could do a 'one account, one score' system? SamRWD 2 Posted February 6, 2017 @KickUp Once again thank you for answering all our questions, here is another one from me:- Is there any in-game footage of simulation mode with all assists off available for us to see? Thanks!

Don't think too hard about this. The fine edge they're having to play here, is to not label the other player as less than normal for choosing one over the other. I think you know how much of a ball-buster the whole Garage/Credits thing is in D:R. Hopefully the career walk through in D4 will seem more rewarding!?I now own DiRT Rally purely for Joyriding custom events now, as I can't afford to enter half of the events these days & those that I can enter, my car is far from competitive, so pointless! Kenny1962 16 Posted February 6, 2017 Hi. Will there be options for different replay cameras so we can have tv track type all of the time insteadof switching from one view to another. This would be fantastic as the replays are really cool.

Which is exactly why calling physics mode "Gamer" is not the smartest thing to do... to say the least. Call it what it is, not who you think is going to use it. I mean depending on who'll be reading it, they can interpret it as "easier", "harder", "exactly the same", "wtf does it even mean?" and so on and so forth. As many interpretations of that as there are actual gamers out there.
