I'm really liking all the modern classes in D4. I'm excited about R2, and R5 also, but less so (I really like R2 cars for whatever reason). I think it'll make the atmosphere feel more like local rallies, instead of huge WRC events, which I like a lot. The FIA can go license a big flashy WRC game with all the official cars, but we all know how it'll turn out. I'd take a game with less cars that's made with care over a game with the newest cars that's been rushed any day.

This. Alot of people are making mistake with limiting their FPS at the same exact number of frames as their refresh rate is - it's a mistake. On some monitors it will be equal but most usually u need to aim into 2-4 frames more. In my case it's 64 FPS limit. No screen tearing, no input lag. Limited through Nvidia Control Panel (simple bat that imports profile on system autostart). It takes time but it's worth messing with to find the right combination for your rig.
I've tried a bunch of stuff with my rig, and the technique I posted works best for me so far. I assure you, there's no perceptible input lag. There may technically be *some,* but I can't feel it, even in shooters. I'll try what you guys suggested though. I think I remember trying it a while ago and it made things worse, but I'm not sure, I'll give it another go.

@RyuMakkuro I won't be switching GPUs any time soon. I'm specifically looking at 27" 1080p IPS monitors, I'd like to keep it around $150-170 so Gsync is purely a luxury. IPS is the main thing I can't do without. I don't think there are any Gsync IPS monitors that fit my criteria unfortunately, but like I said, it's just a luxury.
I've got some 24" Acers that are IPS and thin bezel for $130. Pretty sure they have the same style in 27 or so. At your price range IPS will be 60hz max...
(BTW, if you plan on going triple screen, thin bezels are AWESOME. Two side by side has a thinner bezel than your typical monitor.)

Thanks for the info, I'll look into it. My desk is too small to fit triple screens. Thin bezel would be nice though, it would make it easier to fit my existing monitor next to it. It'll probably end up hanging off the edge and looking goofy, but whatever. I'm okay with 60hz, I don't have the hardware for higher framerates and I'd rather save the money.

You can overclock your monitor always. I run my LG IPS234 which normally has a refresh rate of 60Hz constantly at 74Hz now for the past... I don't know, pretty much from the moment I got it, which was over 3 years ago.

It's not much but I do notice the difference quite well.

@RallyDriven As long as there aren't reset lines that will teleport your car instead of allowing you to crash away.
Ah man, there were too many missed opportunities of spectacular crashes at pikes peak because of those resets in dirt rally.
Yeah, I have a feeling that the off road countdown had gone, but don't hold me to that.

It has.
You can spend as long as you want stuck off track and choose if and when you want to recover.
You can also go further off track before hitting reset lines.
We do still police corner cutting though.

That is amazing news. Does this mean that people that gets a little too frisky on daily events can have their time removed -- or recieve a penalty? Not sure what the punishment would be in reality as I've yet to see it occur...

I have a feeling its how the buttons are mapped, in DR it saves the controls as one profile regardless of what preference you use. I like to switch my G25 shifter between sequential and H but I have to change my controls each time, the best way to do this would be to save a control profile for each preference if possible, @KickUp has this been considered?

No penalties there. He nearly got a reset and 15 seconds though ;)

Meeke received a 1 minute penalty 2014.

Mikkelsen got a 5000EUR fine for cutting the same year. No penalty in the rally though but a warning of exclusion if it happens again.

Yeah I've seen the Colin clip, but I meant I've never seen anyone recieve a penalty for cutting - until now. Meeke and Mikkelsen. Neat.

5000 euro fine though... yikes.

My bet is on Grid 3/Autosport 2 as thats the only franchise I haven't heard anything about recently, probably wrong though lol
The game being developed by former Evo has already been confirmed to be a new racing IP. So not GRID.

Betting RallyX is going to be the focus of this week's Road Book.
Hope so, I'd like to see more of Montalage and Loheac in their finished glory...

...and hopefully some Group B rallycross cars in action as well!

You must have missed the part where Christina told us what the game was when we were having burgers!
