would be nice to see the difference in times from modern to new.

when you think of the little engines now and what they output it is incredible.

This is interesting, though not that surprising. What was considered the peak of rallying years ago is often seen as "slow" by modern standards.

Absolutely. Coupled with improvements in transmission, it's the reason that the Group B stage times were matched (and then beaten) so quickly: all that power is wasted if you aren't putting it to the ground effectively...

@KickUp

As always thank you for all the answers you give us @KickUp !

-Are you aware of any Alpha footage showing Simulation Handling Mode? We got quiet a few videos appearing last couple weeks, but pretty much all of them are either said to be Easy Handling, or are not specified. I remember I asked you that before and you were not aware of any Sim mode footage, so maybe that's changed by now?

- Do you think it would be possible to let more Sim oriented Youtubers and reviewers to get their hands on Alpha build? For some of us it is frustrating to see people who don't are not that much interested in Rallying play Dirt 4 and give us their impressions, yet there is a big crowd of passionate players supporting you and waiting for the release who wish someone from Rally Sim community could try the Alpha Build.

- Not sure if this was already asked, but will it be possible to set up a Rally event with multiple Your Stage generated stages using multiple locations? For example 2x stages generated with Wales terrain and 2x Australia based?

-Will it be possible to preorder Dirt 4 from Poland? I don't see that location avaliable when choosing PC and Steam as platform. Unless I can choose UK and location just means language localisation?

-I saw Opel Ascona used right side mounted steering wheel on gameplay footage. Will we be able to change that (will tere be two variations of a car), or is it hard coded and car specific feature?

-What POV camera settings will be avaliable with cockpit camera? I remember reading that FOV option is disabled on consoles, how about PC? Can we move camera up/down/fov/bckwrd as with Dirt Rally? I really like the camera positioning we can see in onboard gameplay footages btw, I think you have nailed the "further back" camera position!

Keep the great work up! Have a good day ;)

Sorry for the delay responding to this but answers are as follows:

1. Most of the alpha footage that came out of the Barcelona event from Slaptrain or Playstation access was filmed using the simulation model although I cannot say how many assists they had put on before filming.

2. Its not up to me but I hope that we can get a Steam Beta build up for some invited guests to get hands on with on their own rigs rather than us having to invite people to an event to try it. That said our current priority is getting the game finished so it may not be for some time yet.

3. You won't be able to do one event with stages from multiple locations but you can set up championships with multiple locations in them.

4. I don't know I'll have to find out. I know we are doing Polish language support for DiRT 4.

5. No, our interiors are modelled based on the vehicle we get access to for our research. This car was right hand drive so that is what you will have in game.

6. They will basically be the same settings that were available in DiRT Rally.

In Rally PvP can you dictate how many stages or events or is each just a single stage. Could you elaborate on the "ladder" system.

Thanks

There are 5 levels - but the top level is currently reserved for the Fearless difficulty preset.

is there some kind of PS4 deal on ? as that seems to be the only platform to have pre order ? seems odd for the other platforms not to have pre order at same time. xbox and obviously steam.

There is no deal on. These things take different amounts of time to organise with the different parties involved.

@KickUp

Sorry to bother you with this once again....

You have stated that there won't be any photomode included in the game because it requires a huge amount of work which is simply not possible to implement in Dirt4. Now you also said there are new replay options available in Dirt4.

Would it be an idea to let users capture a shot from the replay with and without motionblur? Or maybe to capture an image with/without the wheels in motion? It would add some nice variation to capture certain shots and make it less static.

Is there maybe a chance users can get a bit more control over the camera when paused during replay? Dirt Rally had a certain movement you could use. Not suggesting to give complete liberty but maybe something to play around with to grab some cool shots :)

Last question: Can you give an indication when the final carlist and locationlist are being revealed?

/bothermode off  :p

 :)

We are allowing players to turn motion blur off although it won't be available as a replay style toggle.

The amount of control you will have will be similar to what was in DiRT Rally.

We need to finish off some of the licensing papaerwork and then we shoul be able to do the car list. The location list is the one that is out there already.

I remember when the WRC 1.6l came to Portugal for the first time, they were already beating the stage times of the WRC 2.0l. Suspensions improved a lot in the last years. Even in a standart car. We bought brand new Gr.A susp for our Evo 8 this year from Ohlins and the difference is crazy.

And, well, power figures from Manufacters are always a bit off. I know for a fact that a Skoda Fabia S2000 in the last specs had 320bhp, because I saw the graphics with my own eyes. And at least the Fiesta R5 is above that mark, in Evo Specs. I guess the Fabia should be either. And this new WRC are way way more powerfull than the 380cv announced!

The lack of Toyota in this list is disturbing

Not as disturbing as the roof scoop and carbon fibre bonnet on the historic Escort Mk2.

For now I'm gonna sit back and wait for @Busterbvi to comment

Ha, missed your post Scousestig !  I find the whole Frankenstein hybrid Mk2 very disturbing, what's more disturbing is that they appear to be doing nothing about this travesty.   Nice to see the Manta 400 in Andrews livery though. Perhaps Codies will consider doing Russel Brooks works RS1800 in Andrews Heat for Hire livery and invite Andrews to sponsor it ?  Just a thought.  @KickUp   ;)

While I find it odd that the Escort that gets used by CM isn't the one we all expect, it sounds like they don't have a choice in which version they use. I'd definitely prefer the one above and with a stripped out interior instead of the carbon fibre but I'd rather have the car in the game than not

The model is still that of the McRae Mk2 - by reusing the model we keep the Escort. Adapting it will mean losing it or another car from the list.

I see two Ford Focus RS Rally in the list, nice cars but do we really need two ?  One could make way for the RS1800, the most iconic rally car of all time that rightly deserves its place in D4.

@KickUp, I'm really curious now, based on recent posts and answers you gave in the Q&As. Without giving specifics, is that car list we extracted from the Barcelona Alpha build final? I know you said the locations one we've built was.

"most iconic" is highly subjective. (And probably dependent on age)  I don't find the Escort 'most iconic' at all... it's a often used car from that era but overall not more important than the Stratos or Quattro or Mini or RS200.  To me, the most iconic rally car would be the '99 Impreza, but it's subjective.

The Focuses come from DiRT Rally. They probably took very little time to implement in DiRT 4, so removing one definitely isn't going to allow them to add a new car.

Well, how else are we gonna reach page 1000 before the release of DiRT4?

I was wondering about Fearless mode @kickup. I read somewhere that Fearless mode means no assists, does that mean no auto gears too, or just things like braking assist and traction control? Also does it mean no HUD or outside views either, like chase cam?

Let the existing Escort Mk2 keep its place in the list, just give a makeover so we get an authentic period works / Sutton Car with BDG on Webers, how much work can it be ?

@KickUp May i Ask. I know its to soon. but there will allways be wishing for new conten.
Could the team  implant from game menu to official site poll. So comunity who has game can vote from list.
for example You put 10 location which you could make. Then every player can vote for 3. and at the end of some period. The most points location wins (or 2 or 3 ).. and will be in Game. Then are 9 location for next DLC. vote again so on.. till we have 7 locatin  as DLC for full custom event with 12 diferent location :)
for Cars also just a little bigger number :) so Comunity will be happy,to get what They want. and they would support, also that would give filling to be a part of Game too.. and that has no one else done..
You can make game fresh like on first day :)  till Next gen game comes out.

Enough work to make it virtually impossible to justify it with the people who sign off on the spending decisions.
