macebig 4 Posted March 23, 2015 Porsche can be in the game but first you have to pay whatever EA asks for it.Close to zero possibility to agree at a fair price.

I agree with the above statement. And now a question for the Codies folks, what exactly is the benefit of your company operating in "stealth mode"?To fool people in to thinking the company is doing nothing?! Great plan. I keep hearing responses about licensing woes. Do you need a license to show a screenshot of a tree...the ground...some dirt...a building? @justbiglee you seem like a great guy, one I'd love to sit down and have a beer with and chat up our love of great sim titles. But if you're truly in charge of drumming up interest with arcane and infrequent and random "hints" here and there...that ain't working. Time for a new approach. I would suggest that Codies have to take out a leaf from Sector's 3 book(aka Simbin). For those of you that are unaware they have a game named Raceroom Experience and each month two or three guys from the company take it to Twitch and lay out their plans for upcoming content. They even say about licensing or technical problem giving reasoning to peopI e.I dont understand why Codemasters dont go out straight and say "Gentlemen we are at point A and to go to point B this and that need to happen. We have a C , D problem and we are trying to solve it or we cant solve for the XYZ reason. This is 2015 and companies need to interact with customers.People have become impatient and it wont take long to lose faith or hope.Sorry for the long post, just wanted to lay a few things down. Oh and "while the rest of the world was losing faith in the DiRT franchise"? What little they know... ;) Maybe they meant "losing faith in Dirt" as a strict/"pure" rally game, since the last few Dirt games had so much non-rally content (gymkhana, demolition-style rally-cross, trophy trucks, buggies, etc.). Eh...My favourite quote:We can at least expect the Audi R8 LMS Ultra, Citroën C-Elysée WTCC and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars to show up in the game.I'm no motorsport and car specialist, but I don't think the above cars are made for rally or rallycross... Yeah, the Audi R8 & that Citroen model seem out-of-place, but Porsche should be right at home in rally:Rallying: A Porsche 911 History"...the Porsche 911's competition roots actually began on the international rallying stage..."http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&q=porsche+911+rally

Usually just at Kan Ban or lunch. It's kind of my own fault I'm this busy I'm very good at creating work for myself. I've been getting ready to start doing my "new look" Codies social strategy stuff which I plan on putting into action on Monday (it'll be subtle at first so don't expect fireworks). Doing loads for F1, preparing for D-Day, trying to be more active on the forums on top my usual job of stopping people from doing stupid things (while trying not to do stupid things myself) and training the new guy while being wary that this is all very new to him.Soon as some stuff is out the way I plan on spending all my time on just DiRT and Codemasters and shifting into the studio with Darren and Paul... they'll be begging me to go back upstairs and get out their hair before long :P

Will it be as subtle as pressing '4' and 'Enter' on Twitter? :) :D I've looked through @justbiglee magical plan book during the visit last month, but I have no idea what is actually going to happen :) He was so open when we were there, but as soon as we left it was back to 'I need to have my secrets boys.' ...In another bit of news Kenny from the Block will not be doing WRC or World RX this year... Why would he, backed by Monster, choose to go to GRC? :/ Is it really only because it's a US championship? That being said, World RX would do well to have a round on US soil. If Codies have plans to have rallycross in the next game, then please please please go for the actual global rallycross championship... not the one with Global in the name and one round outside of US car parks... :)

Based on the recent tweets between Paul, DiRT and the World Rallycross it certainly sounds like some sort of connection has been established. Would love to know as I was pestering@KickUp about rallycross when I was at Codemasters back in October!I'm gutted that Block isn't doing any World Rallycross rounds this year, he was great to watch in France last year (plus he signed my copy of Easier Said Than Done!), so I was really hoping to see him in action again this year. As you say his focus seems to be on domestic events this year which is a shame. Based on what he has said in interviews in the past I would imagine Block would prefer to be doing more rally events. I hope he wins the GRC this year, as he deserved it last year and he has been by far and away the most consistent driver in the Championship.NB: I note that Gymkhana 8 is coming this year as well: I'm hoping that features his new RS200! Ken Block was quoted once saying that he always wants to do more rally, but sponsorship obligations do not allow the time in his schedule. Its a sad truth you know? No sponsorship = no money = no car, etc, etc, etc. GRC needs a lot of support and gets a pretty good exposure here in the US. I think it needs some rule changes and a few other things that FIA has done much better. Its entertaining, but much more demolition derby here. Anyway, GRC is good for US sponsors.Rally America, on the other hand needs resuscitated imho, last year they tried televising the season, but it wasn't live (fine) but it aired 2 months after the event. They did not know how to cover it, they used reporters that could care less (girl in middle was like this most of the race). They just didn't have their heart into it at all and didn't even air the last couple of races. It was awesome in 2013 when he ran the entire RA series and really put up good competition for Subaru and made both drivers and Subaru rethink their car and setup. All good stuff. So it really just boils down to sponsorship.
RallyDriven 398 Posted March 26, 2015 Thought he'd have enough money as it is? Strange, because you would have thought his sponsors would get more coverage in the WORLD rallycross and WORLD rally championship, because the rest of the world never sees the American ones. Both sports could probably benefit with a North American round, they would just need to fit it into an already pretty busy schedule
MastaVonBlasta 2 Posted March 26, 2015 Codemasters have announced that F1 2015 will be released in June on PS4, XBOne and PC:http://blog.codemasters.com/f1/03/f1-2015/June release was pretty much the period I saw Codies bring that new EGO engine out, but I really hoped that new DiRT would come before the F1 did...I like the announcement and how it highlighted the handling enhancements (tyre model in particular) - hopefully that means we'll see a step change in what it's like to play. Unforunately, it seems that the voice commands will not be working on PC :(I know another Codies game in development, which provides a big step change... :)

Im also sure there are incentives or contracts with redbull and GRC to commit to a season for spectator purposes. Besides he is American with a family and probably likes being close to home some. Probably all kinds of reason that I can think of.
