I was looking through a number of your videos on YouTube and saw in one of the comment threads where you said the game almost had to much grip. How would you rate it compared to dirt rally in that aspect? Grip levels are completely different, kind of hard to compare them. I just feel the butt of the cars in Dirt 4 should kick out more, especially during handbrake turns. I see, other than that do the physics and handling model feel like an improvement over dirt rally? Or is it to early to really give a solid opinion?

I had an... interesting weekly, to say the least. Best virtual rally experience I've ever had. That could never happen in Dirt Rally.

F2CMaDMaXX 505 Posted June 3, 2017 I agree with the Bacon Mallet, my dailys and career has been a blast so far.Weight of the car goes light way better than DR ever did, and OMG, the Escort Cossie!!! It was available in the classifieds, so i thought, sod it, bought it, man, it is *NOT* the same car from DR, i love it! :)I too had a slight issue of marginally late calls in the weekly, mainly due to 5, 6, 5, 5, open hairpin F*$% - so i tweaked it earlier one notch (it's notches now instead of 3 settings)Anyway, handling, i like how the rear of the 4WD cars can be lost way more easily if you don't behave with your right foot, the whole rotation thing is way more accurate and expected. Clip that back end on something and it'll lift the rear wheels up a little and obviously the grip goes. Flat out in 7th gear in the Cossie through Michigan as your crest 5 and 6 corners, compensating for the car not turning whilst it goes light......Excuse me, i need to sleep, more racing tomorrow, i just added more sponsor hoardings, my custom livery is starting to fill up - still can't wash my car yet, so it can get pretty dirty between stages. LutzM 51 Posted June 3, 2017 Would be great if we can mod the sponsor logos...Hopefully modding the liveries is as easy as it was in DR and we can use the same tools...Anyone here who has D4 on PC - are the car files the same as in DR??So some cars could be modded after the pre-loading next week... It would. It's not. They are not.See above. So we have to wait until someone knows how to mod the liveries...Was hoping to use some liveries I created in DR... F2CMaDMaXX 505 Posted June 3, 2017 If i had to guess, i would say that it's a case of getting into the car files, they're no longer broken down like DR was, it's a single file per car now.
Snaky115 18 Posted June 3, 2017 It is REALLY nice to hear about the Escort RS changes! I am still waiting on Lancia Fulvia opinions versus the Mini - DR the match up wasn't ... good.
LutzM 51 Posted June 3, 2017 But the players car(s) must be saved anywhere else, I mean the ones that the player can edit himself in the branding suite...Maybe it's easier to find/edit them...
KickUp 0 Posted June 3, 2017 LutzM said: But the players car(s) must be saved anywhere else, I mean the ones that the player can edit himself in the branding suite...Maybe it's easier to find/edit them... Because the branding suite liveries are essentially a set of values, I believe they aren't really saved anywhere as a livery they are just a few bits of data. This means that when you load into a multiplayer race with 7 other players using their own branding suite liveries the system can display those opponents on your machine without a massive download. LutzM 51 Posted June 3, 2017 OK guys, you just destroyed all my hopes to have some easy evenings next week spending on modding the cars in D4...Guess I'll do something in the garden then...

The handling characteristics and FFB when the rear springs snaps becomes very, very interesting.Don't think my misfires slowed me down that much though.
