DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

I do hope come the evening of Friday it's just a matter of opinion the gravel handling isn't where it should be because see if it isn't and if we have a Tory government I think I'll have a mental breakdown. In the grand scheme of things I'd rather have handling that needs tweaking than have "THEM" in office again.

From my point of view, it depens on the car and the type of car you are using. Yesterday I tried the Alpine on rain in wales and the car was very grippy but I think the weight of the car played a major. I think that overall, it may be a little more grippy than Dirt Rally but not by much. Exactly, in Dirt Rally I was always using the handbrake to rotate the car but in dirt 4 you don't need it, you just have to brake at the right time and the car will rotate into the corner

Thanks @badaboum528 I really appreciate your reply :) Both your quotes above are encouraging, especialy what you said about car rotation and not needing the handbrake so much as Dirt Rally, that sounds like an excellent improvment, because I also felt the handbrake was needed a bit too much at times in DR.

@tbtstt I've spoke to Tesco, they said that it should be delivered on Friday, but they said they're looking into why it hasn't been dispatched yet and will get back to me soon, so I'll let you know the outcome

The Evo VI is a little beast. Feels instantly fast out of the box, and sounds great too. Even the R4 Evo felt more alert and agile than in DR.

Conversely, I felt the 95 Impreza handled like a bag of ****. Needs some set-up work for sure. Felt like there were two bodies in the trunk.

@Teuchter the gravel feels fine. Feels right IMO. Australia, Wales and Michigan, at least with a controller (Sim, no assist) are a pleasure.
Spain on tarmac definitely feels different to DR. I need to give it time to 'click' I guess, but there is definitely a difference between Spain and say Monte or Germany.

From my point of view, it depens on the car and the type of car you are using. Yesterday I tried the Alpine on rain in wales and the car was very grippy but I think the weight of the car played a major. I also tried fiesta r5 and again it was grippy but like a WRC car in Dirt Rally. The Rallycross feels amazing, way better than in Dirt Rally. I think that overall, it may be a little more grippy than Dirt Rally but not by much. Then again, they worked with Kris Meeke to developp the handling so I think that what we have in Dirt 4 is maybe near reality. Sorry for my english im french canadian

And upgrades on the car change the handling, a lot. My 2001 Subaru had the 'too much grip' problem, bogging down 2/3rds of the way round hairpins while running C grade parts. Upgraded it to B grade parts and the problem went away.

I find the Evo extremely prone to understeer, no matter how I set it up. Once you get a nice slide going the back end regains grip and straightens the car.
