@Operator1 congrats on picking up SLRE for that price. It's a good game. I love the physics. It's hard to pull off successful slides but very satisfying. Each car is a world in itself handling-wise. Stages are excellent. Graphics and sound suck though, big time.

LOL. "Big time?" I wouldn't go that far. I enjoy great graphics & great audio as much as anyone, but I think it's funny when people say good graphics and/or good audio "suck" just because they're not better than everything else. Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO may not look & sound as amazing as some other games, but it's not like it's a throwback to 80's Atari gaming. :p

Got the wheel steering even nicer this evening.  It lacks feel & feedback but now reliably accurate and enabling commitment when pushing on the stages.

The epic stages are worthy of the description EPIC!!  Had a go at Monte & the Germany vineyard ones in the trusty '16 Polo.  First class!

Im really getting into this now!

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I have the universal hub so it might view the buttons differently.

Love SLRE, way better than some fanboys think.

Im sure RBR, the "best rally game" looks and sounds better.

Back in the days developers introduce D3 as simulator, now is shi...arcade.

From beginning, RBR lack of success, 10 years later best rally ever made :S

I was watching the Argentina stages and figured out that the long stage is one short stage in reverse plus one the same way around (at least, the bridges are identical).

Not necessarily.  I thought it was the case from hearsay, but the German epic, is all vineyard area & no panzerplatte.  I assume it's a shorter stage (or two) extended?  It's enjoyable nonetheless 

The German epic stage really gives the sense of rallying through an area, rather than driving a single long road.  You are constantly turning at junctions and traversing different back roads between main roads.

I'm chugging away at career in my wee EcoBoost Fiesta, but love doing a random stage occasionally in a 2016 car.  I'm also glad they were included along with the current WRC's

This is what I really love about the stages, and the stages from DR, and what I miss most about D4's stages.
D4's stages, apart from the occasional town in Spain, seem so... arbitrary, with no connection to the outside world.

I still think generated stages are the way forward, and remain somewhat hopeful, but the generator needs work.

Yes, but I'd say they are approximations rather than real stages. Some of them use famous sections of real stages and bind them together (Great Orme in Wales, for example, is not next to a forest as portrayed in game; El Condor in Argentina has more bridges than the two in game).

There are some aspects of SLRE audio-visual presentation that really stand out. The colour palette is much more to my liking than in Dirt games, it gives off a gritty, realistic feel. Wet tarmac looks beautiful too. As for the sound, it depends on the car, for example Ford Escort RS Cosworth's engine sounds quite good compared to, say, Peugeot 206.

Now I'm in the stage of playing Dirt Rally, Dirt 4 and SLRE every day, alternating between them, because I can't decide which I like the most. :) I have to say though, with the wheel, SLRE feels most detailed and sophisticated as far as handling is concerned.

So the forums finally let me log back in, and 143 WRC7 DiRTy gossip comments later and I can safely say I also won't be picking up this dumpster fire.
Sorry @dgeesi0 but I'm not spending 8 hours trying to figure out how to get my wheel setup to work. It's a crapshoot with this title, and I'm not even willing to spend $20 on a shady CDkey site from stolen credit cards. They've proven themselves fairly incompetent 3 years in a row now.
We have a saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." I can only assume the "Fool me three times...." results in a "What am I? Stupid?"
You guys seem to have really low standards for buying products.

@JZStudios yeah, PC seems to be hit or miss. Mostly miss. On PS4 Pro it runs great with my G29. It's disappointing that so many devs botch PC peripheral support.

some people will always try and justify anything.the games brilliant.it doesn't bother me if you don't buy it or not.only thing that annoys me is when people spout nonsense.

the more you play the game the better it gets.the stages are amazing.the graphics are.its a great game.your basing opinions on a game you havent played yet.if you dont want to buy from a cdkey site don't.it doesn't bother me  tbh.i pay the cheapest price.

you dont have to spend 8 hrs to get it right im picky and i aim for the top times. some could just ask they would get help and be set up nice in minutes but like anything drama is often the easiest option.

dumpster fire im a cody nut brought literally all the codie games for over twenty years. wrc 7 is one of the best rally games made ever.i played them all and it really is a great game.i just wish some would stop crying about previous wrc titles.what does it matter if ever other title they made was bad when we talking about playing this one ?

has codemasters never made a bad game ever ? dirt showdown was terrible dirt 4 isnt great either. you could be playing the best rally game this year but wont based on past games.sad to have such a closed mind.when you could be playing such a great rally game.

I paid Microsoft £45 for a virtual copy of WRC 7 and don't regret a penny of it.  
I got WRC 6 pre-owned, with a gift voucher that cost me nothing & have regretted it every day since.

@griev0r Have you tried pressing the right hand 4 way switch on the BMW rim to start the game? I have to use that one to log my BMW rim onto the PS4, maybe you have to use the same button?

As usual, the Polo is sublime.  
I just figured out how to do a vehicle setup & smashed a WR in Wales on the Epic, by 4-5 secs.  Iv only completed the stage 3 times.  There's more in it with a few tweaks!!

I have to say dgeesio, I thought you'd went a bit too far with few of your earlier posts about the game, but I am now in total agreement after today.  
My enjoyment of WRC 7 is definitely on par with that of DiRT Rally.  I can't get enough of it!

Its got that feel that DR has.  Not the physics, but the 'head says lift, heart says FLAT OUT' feel.  Lol
