I think,they will continue to make standard new WRC games.
and V-Rally will be direction with older WRC Cars (70s 80s 90s 2000s and 2010s).Which is good, because
they have agreement with WRC, so licence for those Cars wont be problem, i am hoping for the Iconic Cars. (and of course Toyota Celica and Corolla)

I'd think so too. Only prudent of them to plan ahead to using the WRC engine in their own IP, even if they make both WRC 8 and 9. If they can keep on improving their physics model they might be able to go more sim for V-Rally. Or they'll go for a more arcade style for V-Rally, we'll see.

Previous installments of WRC from Milestone had classic cars in, so I don't think the WRC license prevents that (more time in modelling them/physics etc).

I'm not sure they'd be allowed to develop a competing rally racing game to their main WRC one, as the license with the WRC might not allow that.

When Milestone lost the WRC they did Seb Loeb's Rally Evo, perhaps Kylotonn are planning for a future without the WRC name.

I guess the ultimate what-if scenario is if Codemasters went after the WRC, if they had a chance...

Good for them if it encourages player numbers, but personally no interest at all if it's on the same 15-20km of tiles as I've driven over 100s of times already and does nothing to improve the 70s cars I loved on DR. At least it's with one of the better handling cars. I presume that's what the week's mooted road book will be about too. Sorry to be a Grinch, but 'meh'; I'm not a world beater and whilst I enjoy online racing (albeit prefer offline), this isn't for me.

Yeah, I'm thinking along the same lines. I have been enjoying replaying a lot of the career Championships the last couple of weeks, but I haven't got a hope in hell of winning anything online!

i will be honest it for dirt 4 so doubt i will do it. also most likelt wont be able to make event anyways. no point in entering if cant make it . that happened last time we had this for dirt rally on sweet lamb.i won it but couldnt go.

The RWD cars lost pretty much all that I loved about them in DR that made them feel like true RWD cars.
In DR you could play with the throttle to steer the cars, controlling the wheel spin. In D4 you have grip grip grip and understeer til you lose it all and spins. Almost like you filled the boot with concrete.

Haha! Swinging the PS4 coy of DiRT Rally was absolutely awesome, but I think a drive in an RX2 is too much, even for the DiRT community! :smiley:

well despite some negativity, I would say this is good news. normally, a competition system means more improvements in almost every aspect of the game, so I presume we will see more locations, more cars and updated physics and FFB. As  always the main goal is to improve to make competition stiffer and more balanced

 That strikes me as optimistic in the extreme. Surely if the competition starts (next week), they're not going to make large changes to the physics in that time (although arguably large changes aren't required).

I highly doubt we will see any physics changes at all for D4 to be fair.

I think physics are partially tied to the tracks/stages to, so tweaking both is quite an undertaking for a console game company.
