DiRTy Gossip Thread

But why though? It's so much fun to gossip when you know what's happening behind the scenes
The possible misdirections are indeed nigh endless.

Anyone speak French and have a subscription here?

Apparently the below is a Google Translate attempt at an interview with Stephane Prevot:

Although he has run less than usual this season, his rally program being limited to three Subaru events in the States with Kris Atkinson replacing Travis Pastrana, Stéphane Prévot worked on notes for two months. "Code Master has contacted me to translate and dictate the notes for the new Dirt Rally game that will be released in February, and players in previous editions complained about the French-language notes made with Google Translate, so I was asked to adapt Phil Mills' notes (for the original English version) and to dictate them, with 12 rallies and 28 long specials to adapt, I've been busy for two months, and recently I've been ten days in England to record my voice.

Very interesting. In my mind this sounds like they worked on and recorded notes for the 6 release locations plus 6 more that I assume will be the 6 Dirt Rally had. I truly doubt they have anything else ready to record than the new locations, so it's not 6 additional new locations on top of that.

It was the number 28 that confused me most. Obviously, it doesn't divide into 12 or 6, and even if you remove the 12 stages from DR1 you're left with 16. That's why I think it may need a native translation or it may just be that the numbers are out. It could just be that the '12' are what we would call the 'long stages'. Or 28 is just a typo...?

Intriguing anyway.

Could 12 rallies be like different seasons? Like Michigan being both gravel and snow and Spain having Tarmac and Gravel rallies. Seems for me an effective way to get more rallies, but with less resources.

I like the Idea, but Paul did once said, that, creating new season of time (winter, summer), is almost take time, like create new location... so think its not high chance for that.
but then again. the DLC is set as season 1 and 2.. who knows :)

I thought this video on how some teams create pace notes was interesting, I wonder if this is how Codies do theirs?

This video is not helping my lust for information...
A guess : a night mode with full moon (clear night) or with new moon (black night) for the tracks in Argentina ? ...   ;)

Can an expert, or someone at Codies, confirm it's a Gr.4 MkII Escort?
Yes it is now. And it’s got new audio too :D

This is most excellent news indeed. Can you confirm they got rid of the IRS and replaced with a single leaf live Atlas 4 link system ?

Time for a new information drop. Perhaps a look at all the different events?!?!???!?
Following the Facebook message last week, I imagine a stream with RWD cars will be around shortly. Hopefully they showcase the 997 and not just the Escort, although either would be appreciated.

That looks like the way they will go but we also had a cheeky screenshot of sealed surface testing so I'm hoping we get to see some gameplay to that effect.

Little shot of Poland and the Porsche on dirt’s Instagram story for those that are on there. Not much but looks cool

I don't know if this is already a thing in DiRT, correct me if I'm wrong, but a small detail that would be nice: larger brake rotors when on tarmac. I believe, currently, the rotors are always the same size.

Also a small detail, I already asked Paul about that when the first Dirt Rally was released but for some reasons I forgot, it wasn't possible. But I'd still love to see a little light inside the car on the codriver side for reading his pacenotes during night or evening stages.
Small detail but still it would be really nice for realism though.

What little we saw of Poland in that clip looks great .Looks a little wide but I guess it looks much narrower through the cockpit view. 09:41 on the clock which seems a decent sized stage although that may be 'casual' driving.

Still gagging to know how many unique miles per event we are getting?!
