DLC there will be Class of Group B RX

http://blog.codemasters.com/community/01/dirt-rally2-worldrx/
@ChristinaMc Will group b rx be the first or second dlc or will it just release later ?

I'm also wondering if more of the dlc content will be cars or an entire class from Dirt 4 or Dirt rally.

@tbtstt Well there's a shot of the Silverstone starting line. :p

Thinking about what I said earlier about DLC, if they gave one free car for each DLC car class, it would let everybody play together online.
Then there's still the issue of DLC locations. DLC are pretty hard to implement within multiplayer.

Yeah, the shots at 0:04 (T5), 0:09 (Grid), 0:11 (Grid), 0:12 (T2 I think), 0:13 (T3), 0:14 (T3), 0:15 (T7?), 0:16 (T4 exit/jump), 0:18 (T3), 0:20 (T8) and 0:23 (T9) all look like Silverstone.

I Hope i can help a little, here Is What She wrote  at January 15th
"Not all of the DLC info, but some of it - Season 1 content will be announced before launch, but this week's hint will allude to Rallycross... Which might be in another season. "

But at the same time this sort of lifts my hopes of an «early 2000s wrc» pack while I would like to see it in game at launch a DLC pack with a focus, impreza, 206, xsara and one of the backmarkers (seat, hyundai, lancer wrc, fabia) would be golden

To deliver the most authentic World RX experience to the fans, post-launch seasonal updates to DiRT Rally 2.0 will see the removal of the Audi S1 EKS RX quattro, and 2018 FIA World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristofferson’s PSRX Volkswagen Polo R Supercar.

Speaking of 2000cc, if they moved the Evo VI to that class, what would they replace it with in group A? Another Lancer? The Celica is out of the question...

The Lancer Evo IV would be a nice choice, or a III. So it'd match better with the 95 Subaru and Escort. That we'd have 3 balanced cars in Grp A and 3 balanced cars in 2000cc. The Evo VI needs some tweaking in the physics because it didnt handle well in D4, making it a lot slower than in reality it is.

Yeah, this would be the perfect outcome: I have my fingers crossed!

Hmm, I have a bit mixed feelings with todays RX news/video (a bit strange, as I ussually am optimistic or trying to be optimistic)
It is great to see some new tracks. But every shot was all the same cars. Tomorrow more  content is expected and I hope more things will get clear the coming days/weeks.

+ Nice to see footage of the new tracks
+ Further World Rallycross circuits and vehicles (seperate to Group B RX) will arrive post-launch
+ Group B Rallycross class (good to know, will be interesting how it will be different compared to D4)
+ Championship mode (if I understand correct)
- No new cars have been shown.
- Are the Megane, Polo R and S1 the only new Supercars at launch? So no MK8 Fiesta, i20, Beetle, MINI?
- Where are the 208, Subaru? (from have been seen in earlier footage, by name or seen driving)
- Where are the Ibiza, older Polo, Focus, DS3? (which all were in D4 and competed in ERX/ARX/WRX)
- So no ERX and ARX as support classes? Especially as ARX seems to be an importaed market with the Americans.

"New Supercars to the DiRT Rally franchise include the GCKompetition World Rallycross team’s Prodrive-built Renault Megane RS RX, the Audi S1 EKS RX quattro, and 2018 FIA World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristofferson’s PSRX Volkswagen Polo R Supercar."
So I need to read this, this will be the new Supercars and more will be there, or these will be the 'only' new Supercars (at launch)?

Not sure how I feel about car classes in DLC. What if you want to play with them online? Are you restricted to playing with people who also own the DLC? And what about daily/weekly/monthly challenges? That's exactly what made Grid 2's multiplayer terrible, you'd buy DLC and wouldn't be able to use them online unless everybody in the lobby also had it. I also don't know if adding cars that were already in the last game is a good idea. Especially group B cars which will be in the game at launch too, just in another discipline.
The way Forza does it is that everyone "has" the cars, you just can't drive them if you haven't bought them. Don't know how I feel about constantly having stuff installed you can't access because you didn't pay enough for it though.

I'm happy with the DLC structure codies are putting on. Fact is if you don't pay for stuff you won't get anything. The modern games industry has to fight the increase in production costs while all the while games prices stay relatively neutral. I find that those games with a free live service offer very little solid content and it tends to be spread pretty thin too. Look at battlefields 5' currently disastrous live service for example.
If we pay for DLC they have a reason to make more, and more importantly make more content that we really want as it means fatter pockets for them.

I was surprised not to see the Peugeot in the trailer @JorritVD, but I am not panicking yet. I daresay the Megane is a "new" car, as I think this is the first time we have seen it in motion.

I think they are overly focusing on the Polo R and EKS S1 as they are the most iconic cars of the 2018 season. As you say though, I do hope that there is a selection of cars when the game arrives.

That's how everybody does it, and it's perfectly fine. The issue is that we're talking about adding a new separate car class, that would only be available to the people who buy the DLC. Things like this split the player base and can prevent people who paid from even using the DLC online.
Adding new cars to an existing class isn't a problem at all.

Remember to be clear re "buying" new cars.

No one has cars bought when they buy the game, you earn in-game money with which you purchase cars in game, for your use in rallying.

As for add on DLC class\packs potentially splitting the player base, remember this isn't battlefield.  The chances are that, for example, the grpB RX will be racing against grpB RX, not a mixed group, you're not splitting the base, it's just a choice if you want to race grpB RX.

That's frankly a load of crap. Games are universally selling more than they have in the past, and even at the $60 price point they're still getting more than the return of investment.
This whole DLC process is "How little can we make them pay $60 for, and then charge for what should've been included?" Battlefield V has far less content than any of the previous games, maybe minus the spin-off Hardline, and the very limited BF1. Then people give them excuses and say "well it'll be better later when you buy EVERYTHING because they aren't making enough when they make $500 million in a week."

It's more equivalent to something like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, except you get half the characters and 1 location for $60, then buy the other 7 locations (10 if you're counting the PS1 version) for an additional $45.

People gotta make paper! And I want meaningful content which I'm more than willing to pay for personally.

I also disagreed with battlefields approach (I think you disagreed with me by agreeing)

Anyway it's a contentious issue but I personally sit very firmly in the 'show them what you think with your money' camp.
