Interesting comments from Jon.  "Not in 2.0"

Not in "2.0" must mean not for this game.

Thank you very much sir! Also, 'locations'? As in more than one? Man, if season 2 is another rally fest, I'll be loving it!

@warpengage  Yes, that is what I was thinking.  Its makes you think there will be no NEW rally locations in DLC only enhanced DR1 locations.  IDK just a theory.

If you look closely, after Season 2 is done, we'll have a lot of content to play with already. That's on September this year and there's a chance they might do S3 if everything goes well, while a new iteration is developed. I'd rather work as much as possible on this 2.0 with content addition via paid DLC, fix the bugs and let the game sell to cash in, instead of jumping to a new game and risk another weak sale.

We still have yet to see a properly composed early 2000s class, something requested since DiRT Rally's EA phase and even before that. Provided we'll have 12 rallies in 2.0, that'd be the only thing missing. It would be nice to have the super specials too, but highly unlikely. And this "not in 2.0" leads me to think there will be no new rallies as well, which not only means no Ireland, but also no Portugal and no Corsica sadly.

DiRT Rally 2.0 still has a brilliant future ahead once the bugs are sorted, but I'm afraid this game might get killed prematurely. eSports can keep this game alive for a long time, and I hope the management sees that. If you stop to think, you can see there's not much that can be improved graphics wise and physics wise (except for tarmac). You can improve the way graphics are animated and made, but when talking about visuals, it's close to what you can realistically get. Same thing applies to the sound department.

Keep the content and bugfixes coming and the game will continue selling. There's also VR coming in summer, which is a great selling boost and a re-launch opportunity.

It's actually done quite well to keep people playing when you look at the stats. It hovers around ~2k players daily on Steam which is better than DR1 early access/post-launch (around ~1k) or D4's (around ~500).

I've not tried it yet, but does Sweden have weather with falling snow? All the clips on YouTube seem to be bright day time or evening.

I find it too slippery with those studded tires. IMO it just feels like driving with normal studded tires.

And those snowbanks are ridiculous. Bank is too hard, the car just bounces out of them.

You should be able to lean on them. Now they are too hard, unrealistic.

Isn’t it already common knowledge that the 2000’s cars for dirt rally 1 and more rally locations from dirt rally 1 are coming?

One good question to ask would be, “is there any rally content coming to dirt rally 2 that wasn’t in dirt rally 1?”

A positive answer to that question would be worth getting excited about.

Content like Peugeot 206 2001, Rally Portugal and Rally Corsica. I'd be fine if only these 3 things would be new, besides what's coming from DR1.

Then we have "new stages for all the other rallies", SSS (Super Special Stages) for every rally, more options for custom multiplayer matches (like turning off the finishing counter, allowing for people to choose their car if they enter mid-event, ability to change penalty times, etc), more work on tarmac physics... but looks like any of these possibilities have been ditched.

Here's a chance to turn this game into a service, but given that "not in 2.0" statement for Ireland, many other things wont happen. Not to mention the whole bunch of bugs there's still left out to fix.

- Monte Carlo screams for the addition of the Sisteron stage.

- Wales screams for the addition of Margram's Park stage (the one with the epic finale where Sainz's Toyota blew 500m from the end, also where Petter Solberg was crowned champion in 2003), or the one that Colin ditched the Focus in 2001.

- Australia screams for the addition of the Bunnings stage, with the epic jumps in the end.

- Spain screams for the addition of Viladrau stage, which is the one with the bridge full of people.

I could keep going, but you get the drift.

There you see, they're too hard in the game. The car just bounces out of them.

Yes, those 3 things would be great, just enough new stuff to keep those of us that played dirt rally 1 to death happy. But if we end up with 12 rally’s i can’t help but think they will just be the 6 from dr1.

i loved throwing the 2001 impreza around Greece for the past 4 years, blew me away, but even with the improved physics i need something fresh after all this time.

Does that “a new stage for old rallies” mean some of the dr1 rally’s will have a new stage, with new corners?

Because so far we haven’t had that yet, unless i’ve misunderstood the meaning of that?

So, you're switching from 'arcade handling, too easy' a few weeks ago to 'too hard, unrealistic' now. 🤔

Yes, the snowbanks are too hard and unrealistic, which is unclear here?

Some of the banks would have bounced you out and some will have sucked you in. It's normally quite random.

I did try R5 Peugeot and mk2 escort on sweden last night and sometimes there is same issue with snowbanks as there is with grass on Poland. 4wd cars doesn't do that as easily as rwd cars. You hit snowbank slightly with rear tire and it launch the car to the orbit. But I don't care about the snowbanks as much as I try to avoid those like a plague anyway. I just don't like how little grip those tires offer. They should bite to the surface, not just slide on top of it.
