I think everyone here realises what we have, a 'playable simulator', the holy grail of rally gaming, perfect handling despite all the tiny problems. I can't support enough the calls for people to get onto steam and elsewhere and give this game good reviews. Anyone who bought DR1 should be buying this. It is miles, miles ahead.

Can anyone report from Discord whether there is a lighting change in the works, ie making all those too-dark sections (even when there is light shining around the place) bright enough for us to actually just see things properly?

Ok so a rain patch is coming down in the next few weeks from what you guys have gathered on discord, and that's good, but any words regarding a patch for AI times in both rally and rx?

He’s mentioned literally the only thing we know from Discord.

I hope there is some AI rework and some amends for the lighting in the future too.

So last weekend I was in at the Southern Ohio Forest Rally, took some pix, thought I would share.  Not as good as @ttbst 's photos, but I like what I got.

Interestingly there are quite a few Fiesta R5 cars showing up here in the US now.  There where 4 plus a hybrid shell with Mitsubishi engine (cheaper) - and this was a super regional, not a national event.

Nice watch. Isn't that a Seiko?

Otherwise seems like you could've shortened the shutter speed a bit and played with burst mode. Would've helped a bit with the blur on the fast movers. But I'm no Steve either.

Also, a polarized filter will help cut glare.

Nice set @gfRally, just been looking through them on Flickr! I think it's great to see the reach of the R5 class is now spreading outside of Europe, I hope you get to see more of them in the US.

I’d guess that’s unlikely unless it was all sorted last week; it’s a holiday in the UK today.

@cmMikeRobson @CMMcBabe @CM Adrian Paul Smith

how it is possible that on some stages in argentina i set better times in night/dry conditions then in day/dry conditions????

i explain you why:  the camera shaking is so strong that i can focus my eyes on the road,  i've made a poll about that, with 90% of people giving me right that shaking is too ecxessive.

never heard anything more about that question from you........

I dont think they had simulated that far, but in reality a Car is almost allways faster nights, temperature are colder, colder temerature of Air intake = more power from engine

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat????  😂

i've sayed that on night i'm faster because there is more visual contrast in argentina and i can focus better on the road, regardless of the exagerated camera shakings.....

What is discord and why would it get announced on there and not here?

Can’t believe I’ve never heard of this event living 50 miles away from the start.  I know where I’ll be next year...unless they cancel the event for another 20 years..

Don't know about DR2 yet, but in DR1 I was always faster in Sweden in the night because the headlights clearly defined margins and snowbanks, while during the day the lighting is flat and it's hard to tell the road apart

Nice! What engines they use on those Bimmers over there? Here M3 or a regular e36 with a engine from M3 is quite common car. I think there was already some sort of record this year at one rally, as there was 71 entrants with BMW's. Drivers with Escorts and Starlets needs to really drive on the limit all the time to compete against those 300-400hp M3's here. :classic_laugh:

Rumor is that its going to be a national rally next year since ARA took it over.  Where about are you?  I'm about 3.5hrs away on the PA side, you know about STPR in Wellsboro PA, right?   Anyhow it will be interesting how next year works out, will some events go into a rotation for national rallys or will there be a longer season with new events being shuffled around until there are national events every 6 weeks?  Have to see...

Not entirely sure.  There are quite a few, but depends on the teams budget, really.... I don't follow the BMW's as close as Subaru's, but they always sound awesome coming thru the woods!

I’m in Columbus.  Chillicothe is 50 miles away, and Portsmouth is another 50 from there. It would probably take me 90 minutes getting to some of the backroad spectator locations. Assuming parking is possible on the road side somewhere?

I wonder if we will get to see any footage of the Group B rallycross cars before they drop next week?

Yeah, thought we might have seen something like that after Germany came out.
