DiRTy Gossip

The car he owns, has made it onto the Gossip wish list quite recently too!
It could mean an awesome future DLC pack, or perhaps it's early prep a new game entirely.

Is it a stage rally spec car or a car built for a different discipline? I ask this because you say that "[It could be] prep for a new game entirely" so is it perhaps a different discipline of off-road competition car that doesnt necessarily fit into the current game?
And are you saying they live near you too then? if so where do you live?
(County, Town, Postcode, Road, Number, and is there a comfortable looking bush opposite?) ;)

I live in County Down, N Ireland (where everyone has a rally car)

No, the sound is pretty-much bang on as is.

It could be really significant, or it could simply be a name-dropping daughter claiming bragging rights over a game my wife thinks I play too much! lol

I think what @BrySkye has added is interesting though and doesn't really make me doubt what I think!

Well it's not the answer I was hoping for, but this is still a pretty cool bit of information! You officially live in the coolest neighbourhood @KevM!

Lucky! I live in Essex so theres lots of people who think their production scoobies are rally cars, but not much rallying past that

To be more specific, I live in a town called Banbridge (Google)

&, one on the list isnt in DiRT Rally and has had a re-visit from Codies in the past few weeks....  ;)

@tbtstt , I thought you would have been all over this one!

DiRT interview up, at work, can't watch now.  Any gossip?
Didn't notice anything.

Well I live on a farm with countless numbers of rallycars in various states of working order!

There's actually a few on the list we don't have, but i see what you mean, as in, we don't have *any* variation of it.  In which case, OMG, it would be great to get the Toyota :)

@gfrally Well don't link us or anything.... :)

The Toyota has been ruled out and the one local to me, as far as I know, is in bits (literally).

Well, that only realistically leaves the Lancer Evo 7.

The 9 would be pointless as we have the 10, but it's group N and hmm, they'd have to work with the exhaust some i think?

The Imprezas are quite likely as i know they need to record any of those (essentially) to get the correct sound for the in game S7.

Ruling out the Metro's and the MKII's as they're literally in game and sampled and/or basically a variation of the same car*

I would also rule out the Escort based on this location being N.Ireland, there are a million MKII's around in England they are more likely to get before swimming over the Irish sea.

*I'm actually not sure the MKII is sampled, although the revs don't sound/feel right/match and the limiter isn't right (for sound purposes)

I wouldnt rule anything out!   :)
I have said that they already have the sound bang on and currently in the game, but this car would warrant a whole new class!

Dude, i cannot believe they'd introduce GroupB Rallycross, so i have to rule that out.

Now correct me if i'm wrong, but i *thought* you said that the car wasn't in game, but they had the sound.  If you said that, do you mean, they own the sound from a previous game?  or it's being used in place of a sound on another car in game?

BUT, if you're saying it's in game already and bang on, then that describes the 6R4, out of the cars you'd mentioned, that's the only car you have nearby that would warrant a new class, is in game and bang on and would warrant a new class.

I don't think they have the GroupN Evo 7 sound in game/bang on, but the new class thing limits it to GroupB Rallycross and GroupN.

Nice to see @KickUp acknowledge the possibility of a "proper" retro rallycross pack as well. Fingers crossed for a big BHP RS200 and bi-turbo 6R4 in the future...

O RLY??  :p

Yeah, i know, i had that in the back of my mind the whole time.  But the reality is that it's current day WRX with shit chassis'.

Don't get me wrong, the historic coolness wouldn't be ignored ;)  But i don't know what it would add to the existing 3 tracks.

So, this could all be a whole RX pack, maybe, RX Legends?  But it's a gamble, personally i'd be unsure how much user-base interest there would be.  I'd hope and would go so far as to say they would *need* more tracks for that kind of pack to work.

My bet will be on the Metro 6R4 Rallycross then, because if I follow your clues, the Metro is already in the game, the sound is bang on and it would need a new RX class

They've already said they would only do group b rx if it was done properly, such as the actual cars that competed, rather than just using the ones currently in game for rallying. I wouldn't mind if they did it either way, but for dirt rally, they haven't been settling for second best at any point, so why start now? Doing a historic rx pack would probably be a fair amount of work (sourcing cars, licenses, liveries etc.).

Personally I'd rather have another rx track or rally stage

Remember this car?  Its been revisited.   Looks and sounds like GrpB RX may be a thing someday

I agree @F2CMaDMaXX , it may or may not add awesomeness to the RallyX part of DiRT Rally, but I have said for ages now that the official partnership would either warrant lots more content or a standalone game, ie: Dirt4 ?

Who knows what it means...?  Plus, the online RX races in Dirt3 were always a real hit with the console users, many a nights fun was had!
