Didn't know they were making a sequel, but I'm glad they are. Hopefully they'll have better physics and wheel support this time as that was a major detriment.

The game has wheel support 😉 The stages, the navigation and the feel of Dakar has been very well recreated. Just need to look beyond the physics. Just love that title 🙂

Wait what? Did I miss something somewhere?

Is there a "3" somewhere on the livery of Jon's new car or what?

@JorritVD Explain yourself! WHAT IS IT!

But it doesn't have good wheel support.

Not really. The Crew has a pretty cool map too, but that doesn't make it any more enjoyable to put up with it's ridiculously awful physics. Although it actually does have pretty good wheel support.

Not sure if this has been asked before, is that little graphic for drive train and engine layout always accurate? I just noticed recently that for the BMW M1 it says it's front-engined, but I'm pretty sure it's mid-engined. @PJTierney

A decent fix would be to have multi-class events, but allow event creators to specify exactly which cars go into which class. The faster cars in H2 could mix it up with the slower cars from H3. The 6R4 could be matched up with any number of 4WD cars. The 90s Group A cars might be good up against the RGT cars. Could even let the event creator name the classes themselves. I’m copyrighting ‘RWD Deathtrap Class’

Ok so I actually did a bit of nerdery and compiled some average times for ever car in the game on the Te Awanga Sprint stage in NZ. I basically went with the most common time near the top of the leaderboard. Not very scientific I know, but I work like 50 hours a week haha. This is the list I got, from fastest to slowest:

Lancia Delta S4 - 03:03

Mitsubishi Space Star - 03:07

Lancia Delta HF - 03:07

Peugeot 205 T16 - 03:07

Ford Fiesta R5 - 03:08

Ford Fiesta R5 mkII - 03:08

VW Polo R5 - 03:08

Sloda Fabia R5 - 03:08

Ford RS200 - 03:08

Audi Sport Quattro - 03:08

Citroen C3 R5 - 03:10

Citroen C4 WRC - 03:10

Mitsubishi Lancer - 03:10

Subaru Impreza 1995 - 03:10

Ford Focus 2007 - 03:11

MG Metro 6R4 - 03:11

Peugeot 208 T16 R5 - 03:12

Subaru Impreza WRC - 03:12

Skoda Fabia WRC - 03:12

Subaru Impreza 2001 - 03:13

Subaru Legacy RS - 03:13

Peugeot 306 Maxi  - 03:13

Focus RS WRC - 03:15

Mitsubishi Evo X - 03:15

Peugeot 206 WRC - 03:16

Ford Escort Cosworth - 03:16

Porsche 911 RGT - 03:17

Subaru S4 WRC - 03:17

VW Golf Kit Car - 03:17

Seat Ibiza Kit Car - 03:17

Ford Fiesta R2 - 03:18

Lancia Stratos - 03:19

BMW M2 RGT - 03:20

Lancia 037 - 03:20

Renault 5 Turbo - 03:20

Peugeot 208 R2 - 03:22

Ford Escort MkII - 03:22

BMW M3 Evo - 03:22

Aston Martin V8 Vantage - 03:23

Subaru WRX - 03:23

Peugeot 205 GTi - 03:23

VW Golf GTi - 03:23

BMW M1 Procar - 03:24

Alpine A110 - 03:24

Ford Mustang - 03:26

Opel Adam R2 - 03:26

Porsche 911 SC - 03:29

Opel Manta 400 - 03:29

Opel Kadett - 03:29

Chevrolet Camaro GT4 - 03:30

Ford Sierra Cosworth - 03:30

Fiat 131 - 03:32

Datsun 240Z - 03:33

Opel Ascona - 03:36

Fulvia - 03:40

Mini - 03:41

DS 21 - 03:59

It’s crazy how outgunned some cars are in their own class. I would love to be able to create a class with the Fiesta R2, Subaru S4 and the 911 RGT all competing together, as they’re all just a second apart in my list!

I’m going to compile a list of the very fastest times for each car too, along with my own fastest times in each car. Might be able to manually create some classes on a leaderboard of my own or something, but won’t be as good as if it was actually in the game.

A few of them are incorrect 😞

I believe that's called "Mode." Seems like it'd be simpler to just average the top 100 times or whatever.

Do you know which ones by any chance, apart from the BMW?

Not off-hand, no.

It was the kind of thing that got changed a few times after launch, we kept finding cars that were mis-assigned 😞

That's not possible. All of his vehicles are crumpled heaps, why would you want to buy any of them?

🙄 Block bashing, it's like being in a Facebook comment section.

He has barely driven the RS200, though that car has had some heavy use in its previous guises.

Other than the livery and a few cosmetics, is it still a Group B spec car?

Looks it from the outside.

I'm guessing he couldn't sell these before because he was tied to Ford.

No, I wouldn't say it is even close. Despite what was said in some of his videos it isn't one of the original Evo cars. The origins of this chassis are a bit hazy, it seems likely that it is one of the Glomma Papp rallycross cars, but that isn't certain.

The car was built up to Evo specification and ran a couple of different gearboxes (and colour schemes) before going up for sale in 2014. Apparently the engine in it at that time was a Schanche built 2.3L, but I haven't seen that verified, nor am I certain that is the engine in it now (it is listed as 2.1L, but the seller may not be aware).

Block has subsequently changed suspension dampers on it; so at a minimum that is unoriginal engine, ECU, gearbox and suspension... plus the car was assembled as a "bitsa" anyway.

Nice profit for Block though. That car was listed for just under £100,000 in 2014...

He had the "HFHV" Fiesta up for sale a few years ago (don't think it sold though). Perhaps some of the money for these cars came from Ford, so he couldn't sell them at the time?

I have heard on the grapevine that the Hoonitruck has been sold as well. If that is the case then I think the only Ford he'll have left is the EsCos.

Has he sold the Hoonicorn (or the V2 as I think they re-used the V1 to make it)? That car's iconic now as the Ken Block car.

Side-note, the SUBARU that was built for Travis Pastrana is insane. It's basically the WRX Rallycross but with the rulebook thrown out the window.

That is an interesting one. As you have posted he finished the recent "Hoonicorn Vs. the World" series by saying that it was the "last time he'd be driving the car", suggesting that it was no longer his. I wonder if Ford Performance money paid for the build, so it went back to them?

And yes, they reworked the V1 into the V2. Personally I preferred the V1 guise, but no doubt that the car is a weapon - and arguably the definitive KB car - in either form.

The two Launch Control episodes about the making of that car/video were pretty good. Not sure if it was dumbed down for the purposes of the show, but some of the comments about the build didn't quite make sense though.

I believe there are plans to use the car for other things, which could be entertaining.

Apparently, with enough boost pressure and RPM the boxer engine loses its typical 'boxer sound'. If I close my eyes and just listen to the sound, I wouldn't say it'a a boxer.

Must be why it's not burned to a crisp. Remember when he intentionally drove his Escort into a rock just in an attempt to kill his co-driver?
