There are 3 people in the video, the style of the presentation, the cuts, the content and the 3 of them jabbering away is to me, dudebro style.

The larger guy got the HP wrong on the car though (rally car) i think he was remembering the number Audi tuned theirs down to for Ken to play in it.

Yeah, he did... right up until he owned one! I think it was a pretty good case of "not meeting your heroes". That said, I think his ownership of that car might have been more enjoyable if he had better support for the car.

Yeah, the "base" car was only 250 BHP and that engine (1.8L) was run up to 450 BHP. The Evo engine (2.1L) is capable of way more power, but those blocks (BDT-E) are ultra rare. The few videos he did with that car show him looking really uncomfortable when driving it quickly; and say what you want about him, but he rarely looks concerned behind the wheel. 

Did make me chuckle that he mentioned about how much of a pig the E2 he drove (at Audi Heritage) was. You best get used to understeer, because your own car is going to do exactly the same!

Perhaps, though maybe he is just being realistic. There are a lot of pub figures when it comes to Group B (rally) power figures, the Group 4 quattro started with around 300 and it did rise from there, but some of the "claimed" figures for the period cars are ridiculous.

I thought it was fairly well known that model was 500+ depending on tuning.

Hello everyone!!! I have a hype for the future Dirt Rally 3.0 that is not normal.... I can't wait to see how it will be in the new generation. Regarding the simulation, watching DR.2 I am very calm. These guys know what they are doing. Improve asphalt, and a little more land and it is again the best rally simulator ever created. WRC 10 is very fun (for its realism) and enjoyable. I consider it a simulator too (as long as it is played as realistically as possible). But what CM has done with DR.2... is simply amazing. And of course looking forward to F1 2022. It would be nice to be able to have different tire combinations. Example:

There is certainly a lot of knowledge and passion in the team that develops DR.

Basically there was just one line in that hairpin.
That time I got to wide and got in the mud.

With RX slicks you have basically zero grip.
Actually the tyres were the same that I used the previous time on my debut, and at that time they were already used.
So not much profile.

What I think happened is that I came in a bit to fast on wet gravel.
I went wide where there was a much more thicker layer of gravel (inside was more asphalt).
At that point I had no steering anymore, and as I was on throttle so the weight goes backwards.
When I hid the wall I bounched to the right.
Than I am still not sure what really happened (also not when I see the images back).
I think a combination on getting on a part with grip, a bit of to much throttle and maybe the rear bouncing back of the wall caused me to go into the wall again.
Can also be that the left front had much more resistance (layer of mud by the wall) and therefore pulled me into the wall.

Yeah, probably a combination of things. That hairpin with all that deep mud is definitely a nightmare with the BMW on old slicks.

I think part of that has to do with what the original DiRT Rally was, an early-access project. The team at the time (this is only my assumption) needed that hands-on interaction to help build the kind of experience you were all after, as a "hardcore rally game" hadn't been done by anyone since Richard Burns Rally.

On top of that the environment changes a bit as people come and go. Lee, Coleman and Christina have all moved on (Lee's at EA now) and I joined a few years ago. I guess I'm more active here because I was "one of you lot" before getting hired whereas somebody coming in fresh may not be as hands-on here.

In addition, the social/community landscape has changed in the past few years, to the point where it can be a bit risky for a developer to freely post on the forums. Unless somebody is trained in or has experience with being a "face" of a brand, it's easy for comments to be taken the wrong way, things to be leaked etc.

I'm all for more developers being on the forums though, but even with my specialised role it can be a little tricky to interact with you all in a way that doesn't get me in trouble 😄

Did you just confirm Dirt Rally 3.0?

The few things that are known:
- There are now a DiRT and a DiRT Rally dev team.
- The DiRT Rally development team is working on a new project, already when DR2.0 post DLC content.
- It is not known what the new project is. Only that there was a kinda confirmation of Codies having the WRC license from '23 and the first game should be in '24 (but as fas as i know codemasters never confirmed this). But it is also not known that there will be a game before that. 

so 5 years ('19 - '24) between DR2 and the WRC just seems overly to much imo, especilly as D5 was released 1,5 year after the release of DR2.0 from an other dev team,
AND that DR dev team released 3 games within 4 years (DR1, D4, DR2.0) before that. So how can it be they now need 5 years to create a game? Or the new game is made completly from scratch, but that is both an huge investment and risk.

Also I can understand that some changes in Rallycross, and also with the influence of COVID, and also introduction of EA, resultated in strategic/tactical rethinking of the game and (re)organizing the team in certain ways. 

Also people should stop saying 3.0, because 2.0 was only a reference to CMR2.0.

It has probably been in development for some time. I say this because usually developers when they finish a work, they are already working with the new one. It's pure DR.2 passion. The sounds, the physics... the details... The dirt is amazing how it looks on the cars. They were always ahead of their time. At my 39 years old (I'll be on December 8th) the hype and the illusion I have to see a new installment of this simulator are very big.

Sounds like a bad higher up thing. DR had really good community feedback and interaction, would've thought CM would find value in that. Not having communication leads to things like Ghost Recon Frontlines and Battlefield 2042 where the community they're trying to sell the game to would've immediately said HELL NO.

There's also old time forum members that stopped visiting years ago at this point because there's no interaction. The forum is dead and it's not really any fun  anymore. It's actually been happening in BeamNG too, I joined the forum to keep up with their update posts, but then they started only doing it on Twitter for some reason, then they kind of stopped doing it at all. That game's still early access.

The agreement contains a stipulation for the latest the game can release, that's where the '24 date comes from.

I'm fairly certain GRID Legends exists though 🙂

Nah, even the old devs stopped poking around the forums after DR1 was out, then they all announced they were leaving.
