Did you know that the long-time members of this thread have had a DiRTy Gossip Discord server for a while?

You do now 😉

WOW.

I've had to go about 20 pages of Gossip :D

I hope they will at least consider adding more locations with DLC this time. As hard as I'm opposed to DLC model it just makes a complete sense in a rally game and hand-crafted stages are worth every buck.

I had to make a meme:

I'm SO excited to see the direction taken with New Zealand! Mostly I'm just grateful that NZ is included. CMR(1.0) was the last rally game I played that included NZ. So first and foremost, thank you!! In terms of what I'd love to see, two things I hope are well captured are:
  1. Camber. I really hope cambered corners are ramped to the max in NZ. That flow feeling from this section of Fferm Wynt - but all the time, and with more speed! https://youtu.be/0qYbrI0k2N8?t=1m25s
  2. Environment. I really hope the road and the environment feels undeniably like NZ. eg I hope the start of the reveal trailer, and this pic is Australia  :D <3 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DoAyvvRXUAA0yM5.jpg

I'm guessing the stages will be heavily influenced by one of Rally Whangarei, Otago or Gisborne (Motu stage). Each has unique characteristics and possibilities for different environments.

Gisborne: Rough, tight, technical stages mixed with classic NZ camber and flow. Rougher "backcountry" environment. A legendary stage in the "Motu" which fits nicely with the legends focus (Colin "Motu" McRae).

Whangarei: Smooth wide flowing cambered stages. Bridges, tarmac sections. Green and lush, coastal stages.

Otago: Full throttle high speed commitment, elevation changes, camber, mountainous / coastal possibilities, snow / frost possibilities.

ALSO - if Hillclimb is in the mix - CARDRONA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M85jiaG3LXQ

SO EXCITED.

How did I miss what I wished for lol

" In addition there will also be a DiRT Rally 2.0 Deluxe Edition which also includes the first two seasons of post-launch additional content, each with three locations (split between rally and rallycross) and five early vehicles unlocks (Ford Escort MkII, Lancia Stratos, Subaru Impreza 1995, AUDI Sport quattro S1 E2 and Ford Fiesta OMSE SuperCar Lite)."

So Seasons - that's really cool way to do that. I assume it's similar to R6 Siege seasons with difference Operator = Car, Map = new Stages/new Location

IMHO it's a fair business model, cars and tracks don't magically create themselves - and if it's going to be entirely new locations that  takes some real man hour to do and no one works for free.

Yeah I normally don’t like pre orders and deluxe editions, but when it’s something I really like and I feel I’m going to get value for money, I will fork out. In this case, I’m going to drive to southam and start stuffing £20 notes through codemaster’s letterbox until they give me what I want

Again reading this:
"first two seasons of post-launch additional content, each with three locations (split between rally and rallycross)".

- So minimal two seasons of DLC
- First two seasons have both three locations, meaning 6 locations.
- As the rally stages take possible the most time to develop, it would make sense that in a season comes two Rallycross tracks and one Rally location. That would mean that the remaining 4 WRX tracks will be added in the two seasons to the 8 WRX tracks that will be in the initial release.

- It could also mean there will be a Rallycross season and a Rally season

"Race at Barcelona, Montalegre, Mettet, Lohéac Bretagne, Trois-Rivieres, Hell, Holjes and Silverstone in a multitude of different series."
- So Riga, CotA, Germany and South Africa are missing. Strangely, or more interestingly the four last rounds of the 2018 season.

Possible DLC imo what can expect:
- ARX (as I said earlier in the topic)
- 2019 WRX season

It might be the final DiRT that will be developed on the current gen consoles (PS4, Xone), so possible a bigger focus on DLC can be logical.

Simply freaking amazing!

The locations picked are superb (Oz, NZ and Pooooooland!) with intriguing mention of deformable terrain.

Cannot wait to hear more :D

Post-launch content release plan with *first 2* seasons hints that DiRT Rally 2.0 may be run like a game service, with decent longevity. Great approach and something I wrote about in the past.

I even think that on my wish-list there were the following dream features/content:

- operate as a service

- road deformation and evolution

- stages in Poland

Thanks you Codies. I'm very excited :D

So will the infamous Ross Gowing join Twitter or forum to answer some questions? @KickUp definitely followed 'Be Brave' pace note and was scared of the Gossipers :D

Same reasoning was used with DiRT 4 but I'm yet to see a decent Wales stage in that game while Sweet Lamb was in DiRT Rally. Right now, we can only hope. And in all honesty, if the first two expansion packs will be made of JUST the stages from Rally it would feel quite cheap. It'd be better if they also added new roads. As I said though, it's far too early to say anything and OH MY GOD NEW ZEALAND <3

Unless it is still problematic to include those stages as they are a carbon copy(oh well) of the real ones used in the WRC with possible legal trouble ahead.

I know it's way too early, but I really really hope the rally DLC doesn't consist of just shoehorning the Dirt Rally content in... I hope they at least make new stages for those locations if they do use them, otherwise it's going to feel like a massive rip off. Not to mention we'd all know them by heart, kinda ruining the joy of experiencing an unknown rally stage.

Looking at these pictures from press event. Doesn't the UI look a bit overstyled? It looks like an arcade game IMO. I just love the minimal style of UI from DR and D4.
Yeah I though that also the graphics look oversaturated, but maybe it's just first impression.
That's like the smallest problem ever.

Digital Vibrance is in Nvidia Control Panel for a reason. Reshade exists as well.

Some time ago, (i don't want to check the pages back) someone showed a picture of a sheep from Forza Horizon. But also in DiRT Rally 2.0 there will be sheeps. Just a detail no one mentioned yet (as far as I could follow). But it will be interesting how the sheep will react after you crashed to the fence and chase them, haha

I'm kind of looking forward to trying to regroup sheeps in an Audi Sport quattro

what are the possible system requirements to run DiRT Rally 2.0? Is it the same as DiRT 4 or just a little bit higher than DiRT Rally requirements? Any luck with hardware optimisation?

I've run DiRT 4 several times and I've got around 25 to 30 on 720p with the visual settings to the lowest, but I really hope to see this optimised at its best...

I have no plans to upgrade my laptop due to other real life plans, but it would be great to see this running smooth for low-spec users.

Maybe it is a trophy or mini-game?

So the stage generator is gone?

Nice. Can't wait for all the nolifers to learn all the stages and for the multiplayer events to suck ****.

Why on Earth would you put so much effort in such ambitious tech and throw it in the bin instead of refining it further.
Probably because it's an absolute bag of **** at the moment. I'm sure it's being worked on for future releases. And with the promise of additional stages and content that should keep things fresh. I'm sure there'll be enough stage miles to keep online interesting.
