@JorritVD
I imagine that value refers to the weather that appears 'from above' rather than the surrounding location graphics - every run will have those settings mixed together; just the chance of snow in Spain will likely be 0 at all times.

However, thanks for the screenshot as you've just confirmed the Spanish stage in game... La Figuera

I'm somewhere in this clip...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obxe4EuSaUE

This is the full 40km configuration, so I don't expect all that in there. Last time in ran WRC was 2015, where there was a 26km route, so I'd guess it's that: https://www.rally-maps.com/Rally-de-Espa%C3%B1a-2015/La-Figuera

There's a note about preorder on the website of bol.com:

It's in Dutch though:
"Pre-order bonus
Pre-order Dirt Rally 2.0 en ontvang een DLC voor de Opel Kadett. Pre-order codes worden op dag van release per mail verstuurd. "

Which translates into;
"Pre-order bonus
Pre-order Dirt Rally 2.0 and receive a DLC for the Opel Kadett. Pre-order codes will be sent by email on the day of release."

There’s history between Codies and Toyota. I guess it still exists.
One day we'll find out which Codies employee scratched the Toyota CEO's car in the car park.

Or that at the Toyota Christmas party in 2013 none of them could complete Pike's Peak in the Tacoma and they swore 'never again'.

Or that their PR department really didn't take well to this Twitter post...

https://twitter.com/dirtgame/status/526791317209481216

One day...
That picture is from my local beach too!
Jesus Christ, remind me to never go there. The only thing missing is fire and the ROUS's.

Aww, that's much nicer than the cartoon-y VW!

Also, what do you reckon, are the trees around the Porsche covered in snow?
Nice one Codies, love the tribute to the old CMR 2.0 DVD box, that game was an epic triumph and is probably still pound for pound the best rally game Codies have ever made. Would love to see some kind of further homage paid in the game menus or something.

I wish we could say something cheeky.  ;)

But we can't because our builds "menus" are just functional.

From Facebook; this was news to me and glad to hear it! Hopefully this really penalises 'resets' too.
Hmm, pretty sure it'll still be mostly "simulated" damage as opposed to visual, like DR and D4.
I mean, that's cool I guess though, but being retired for damage when it looks brand new is... ehhh.
That's all I'm hoping for, I rarely see the outside of the car if I go off anyway. Conversely, I always found it really weird that my car could arrive at the finish line in a crumpled heap but 30 seconds ahead of anyone else (in Dirt 4 that is). Basically, I just want it to take less to mess up suspension.

The main damage I want to see is wheel geometry and suspension. In the first grid, most crashes would cause your car to pull to one side. I remember having it so badly bent once I could only drive in circles, and steering input had no effect. That’s what I’d like to see above anything else. Particularly in big rollovers, when you land with nothing more than a cracked screen

@bogani

Unless my eyesight is mistaken (always a possibility!), in the screen from Jorrit's post, the blurred text in the bottom left reads "la_figuera_rally_01" followed by "route_0"

http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/800f/itfco9xff6f7fsizg.jpg?size_id=a

In fairness, it was always likely to be - it's one of few stages which goes through towns and it's clearly the stage Dirt 4's Spanish environment was based upon (road width, towns, junctions etc) and has the iconic El Molar hairpin.

Or it might just be confirmation bias!

Hoping that this means there's a full 'failure' mechanic, broken suspension is so prevalent in real world rally it would be nice to have that implemented. Don't want to club a huge rock or hole on the inside and get that classic computer game slight lean to the steering one way or another.

GRID had the best damage model CM has ever developed and that's one of the main reasons I love it so much. Even minor crashes were enough to beautifully turn your car into a chunk of scrap and that's top notch physics.

The kind of damage I want to see is wheels being so awfully pulled inside that steering the car becomes impossible. Saw that on lots of videos. Even dumb crashes, like hitting a small rock at 40 km/h would force the driver to retire.

One thing I'd love to see is: the car is wrecked beyond expectations, there are three wheels left, a door has gone missing, the bonnet... well let's say it was overrated anyways. But you still have the opportunity to carry on to the end of the stage as long as the engine is running and any torque is still arriving at the wheels. I hope that will be the case even with a more punishing damage model

It's better than nothing, sure. But you can't blame me for wanting it to go back to Dirt 2 levels.

If you want real hardcore damage there's always BeamNG. It really makes the butthole pucker, because you don't bounce off that rock, it rips the whole axle off.

I don't want damage for comical effect and certainly don't need an axle to fall off. I'm not so fussed about visual damage either though I'd like it to a certain degree for immersion etc. I just want to be properly punished for Binning it. Rallying is all about risk vs reward and the potential to cause rally ending damage around every corner can only add to the excitement in game.

Personally though, I'm betting on the Abarth and, if there is a fourth, a Nissan 370Z or a Ford Mustang (good relations with Ford, similar to the Camaro). Looking forward to finding out more about this class though.

Called it  :p

From https://www.amazon.fr/Dirt-Rally-2-0-Day-One/dp/B07JGD3CFB and https://www.amazon.fr/Dirt-Raly-2-0-Day-One/dp/B07JFPR5H3 (might want to amend that URL guys)

Seems like someone is constantly sat in the corner of Codies' boardroom muttering "but America guys...".

Rally Trans-Am! Looking forward to that.

Ford Mustang RGT hmm? Based on this, I assume?
Still hoping for a Cayman RGT, since the 911 is, technically, DLC.

Also, a little worried, down from "over 50" to "over 40"?

Might be "over 40" initially with 50+ after DLC.

That's what I fear. It's always been around 50-something cars around release. I wouldn't like them holding back from the base game just to make it DLC.

I wrote that too originally, but elsewhere the same listing says "over 50" so I'm still going by that number. At this point, with the number of 'confirmed' new additions, under 50 would mean a LOT of series staples making way.

Personally I have no problem with the staging of the Camaro and the Mustang. The Porsche 911 carries Gt-3 chassis, and can run Ralis... If we add the good make of CM in the fidelity of sounds, they may be the best sound reproduction seen in any game.

Well, I'll go by Steam's page. In the 'About the game' section, it says 'over 50', so I'll go with that. After all, that section is not about the Deluxe edition or anything, it's about the base game. At least, that's what I assume. Perhaps someone from CM can clarify if these 'over 40's that have been appearing are just mistakes.

So the 40 and 50 count, i noticed the Mustang is mentioned on the over 40, i think it was retracted on later listing once they had licensing etc.

I mentioned this in the car thread - but the 240z disappearing from the CM page after announcement and the Mustang showing on advertisements that were clearly early release details (only showing 40+ cars instead of the current 50+)

I doubt it's 50+ including the DLC, if only because the DLC is extra, it's pay for, and the 50+ is mentioned on buying the base game.

To be fair, they rightfully stopped listening to that guy after Dirt 2. ;)
The Dirt 2 guy had to be Californian.
I still defend that it was a cool concept, and the brought it back slightly for Dirt 4... at least for the pre-race.

Toyota UK were highlighting all their motorsport successes on Facebook. I asked if there was any chance classic Toyotas could be added to DiRT Rally 2.0, and they replied:

"The deals between games developers and vehicle manufacturers are complex and we (Toyota UK) have no say in this. This is dealt with directly by Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan. Thanks."

So, that's who decides it :-)
