The night before last, I had a dream that I was racing in a new Rally Sim from Codies. I can't remember it fully, but here are the details I can recall:

* The graphics were hench

* I was driving a plane blue car - I believe it was a '95 Impreza or an '06 one, can't be certain though.

*A glimpse of 2015 Impreza does come to mind, from a replay cam similar to a heli-cam, but lower. It also struggled to keep up with the car... maybe a droid cam? Anyway, I'm quite sure that part is something my brain made up, especially since the 'screenshot' in my head looks so similar to original DiRT3 Teaser... Plus I don't remember actually finishing the stage

* It was Right-Hand-Drive

* I was racing in a Safari Rally

* The roads were sort of wide, but not as wide as DiRT3. I forgave the wideness thinking it's safari and they have wide roads in that anyway...

* There were some narrow sections through trees. Twisty too.

* There were jumps, some big, and water splashes, but none so deep that the entire car, or even the whole bonnet, went under.

* I didn't get a good look at the particle systems...

* Also, I was using a wheel I don't remember seeing before...

That's all I remember right now.

Worse when you have to go behind 4 wheel drives and escorts! Tell Jon to go steady for me!
I don't think he knows the meaning of the word.

Can someone fix the link so it shows the image?  half the time I can use the add image link then on another post it will not work, tried 2 different browsers, and on my phone and tablet.  Forum bug?

For the image to be visible the file extension (.jpg in this case) should be in the url, else the forum can't recognize it's an image, and just shows it as a clickable url.

FIA World Rallycross are hosting a media day at Circuit de Catalunya today. I'm sure it will be full of news regarding driver moves, liveries and sponsporships, but will we hear anything about a game licence?

What if Milestone get it... Seb Loeb made an appearance at Loheac, but he's far from a regular to make it a natural tie up.

What if Codies made the move for the licence? I guess we wouldn't hear anything about it until a game is announced. Nevertheless, today should be a good day for RX fans and I can't wait to see Petter Solberg's new livery :)

He says he has a BIG announcement would that only be a livery change?   As always it would be great to see him back in a Subaru.  Subaru has been developing a pretty good RX program in the GRC, which could compete pretty well in WRX.

I also see that Dave Mirra is there as well, possibly with Mini.  It would be nice seeing him back in RX too.

This post could be worthless in 15 minutes or so as news is being announced quickly

Exactly :)  I think Solberg and Doran already announced that they 'combined' their teams, so I have no idea what other quite big announcements he may have in store?

I reckon Solberg will be sponsored by Monster this year.

Very excited for the upcoming RX season!

Yeah, the big news is that Solberg has Monster sponsorship... not a very well kept secret though as it was known last week! :smiley:

OMSE announced their line up this morning, Marklund revealed a new livery and Mirra has been associated with JRM, that's all I've seen so far.

Cannot wait for the World Rallycross Championship to get underway, all being well I should be at four rounds this year!

Timerzyanov jumping ship to Olsberg's and still retaining the Red Bull backing? Hmm, he was pretty average last year. In my view Solberg's livery is alright, but I'd maybe be add more pronounced grey bits on the front section.

So far I haven't spotted any DiRT stickers :(

Doesn't he always? :wink:

Oh! I've got another one of my stories from DiRT 3 Battersea event, which I 'never' tell anyone...

During the event in May 2011 some guy was hogging the D-Box platform for himself, doing lots of runs on the motion platform and not allowing the visitors to get on it and challenge Kris Meeke's time.

I thought that was unfair and reported him to the staff :P :P The staff member told me he's a tester for the game and this was his only chance to try it out. I let him have two more runs and then kicked up an even bigger fuss. I realised it was Liam Doren a week or so later...

Anyways, I was a hero and returned the D-Box back to the people! ...

Ha, I know! Stood beside one of the coolest rally/rallycross drivers of the modern era and he looks like someone has crapped in his lunch.

From what I understand they are team mates in name only. Both cars have been prepared in different work shops and will be run as separate teams. If they are similar to last years cars then they are also very different in configuration (cosmetically and mechanically).

So they're teaming up only so that they can score team points and because now they're both sponsored by Monster? Meh.

Liam Doran is the only rallycross driver we know that has visited the Codies studio. There were even pics of him being interviewed in front of a camera? When are we going to see that stuff?

I'm filling in some of the blanks with educated guesses, but last year it became pretty clear that Petter really wasn't fussed about the team Championship or how the second car was going (I heard several stories in the paddock about conversations he had with Hvaal which confirm this).

Liam had a crap year in 2014. His ban ruled him out of the World title and both the LD Motorsport run teams didn't do very well. I personally think he tried to do too much at once and spread himself too thin. It was even more of a poor performance  when you consider that the LDM DS3's were the most successful cars of 2013.

Therefore it figures that Petter and Liam want to concentrate on solo campaigns in 2015 and not worry about running multiple cars for team mates.

The World Rallycross Championship is a Monster Championship and Monster nearly always back one of the front runners (or Champions) so it figures they would want to get behind Petter. The whole thing works out rather neatly really: just needs Liam to ensure he doesn't wipe his "team mate" out!
