I noticed in some videos and screenshots that an American flag is used for Jen Horsey. :s Is there any chance I can do this in-game:

We asked her and she requested USA, sorry
Strange... I wonder why?
Maybe she lives in the USA now?
She does, but that doesn't make me throw the stars and stripes on my car ;)  All personal preference.

There is nothing wrong with the core physics at all. When playing around with the BMW M3 in the Dirt Fish area it becomes quite evident that it's the gravel surface of the rally stages that needs tweaking somehow. The RWD physics is truly fucking brilliant in D4 under the hood!

That's really odd, if the physics in dirtfish and the actual gravel stages are acting differently.

I haven't played the game yet, so I can't say much, but if that is indeed the case then please fix it soon.
It's not the physics itself, it's the grip level on the gravel stages. That's the only thing it can be really. In the Dirt Fish area it's mostly gravel covered pavement and a different kind of gravel to what's on the stages.

Yeah sorry, that's what I meant. The gravel surfaces of the stages and dirtfish being different.

Definitely seems like the surface in dirtfish is proper, from the footage I've seen. The rally stage surfaces, some look good but others don't. There seems to be some inconsistency somewhere.

DiRT 4 V2 handling.  Its been done before!  :)

Let's play it for ourselves first...

I like the handling in DR, but the sacrifice in car weight was too great in attempt to lessen the grip and to make the cars go more sideways.

This made Finland my least favourite location, until I memorised it. That should not have been the case. I think I would have really enjoyed Finland had the cars actually behaved with proper gravity and weight.

THAT LOOKS BRILLIANT!

But don't the cars have tarmac tires on at the Dirtfish area? That would explain the more slippery handling on the gravel there compared to the stages.
No, they're on Gravel tyres.

I have a question though, would it be possible, if you decided to do so, to upgrade the grip levels on gravel with a patch, since the gane has already been released? I know we should try them first, but I wonder if this would ever even be an option in the future

The Escort Mk2 was far too easy in DR.

The Manta & 037 were the only proper demanding RWD's in the game

The M3 was one of my favourite cars in DR, but purely due to the noise.  It went too straight too easily.  If you are putting those kinda revs to the rear on loose, you should have to tame them!  :D

I don't understand why the RX physics aren't the same as the rally physics.
I would also like to know is there differences and what under the hood, and do rally cars also use same Cooper tire model & info that is used in RX or something else.
Wrote this on another thread also, but i'm just curious about this.

Game itself will be great anyway, but to me there is just something wonderful to know how things work and why. That's why the curiosity. (Especially when people are praising RX, and you would think the handling be the same with Rally (gravel & tarmac in both), but those are quite different cars though...)

Edit: now just read about Dirtfish areaa gravel feeling different. Interesting
Umm.. anybody that has the game. Was there a way to make your own "stages" to Dirtfish area, or is my memory pulling tricks on me again.? Some timed events or similar

The Cooper tyre model is only used in RX. It's a crossply tyre and is quite different to what is used in Rally and Landrush.

Dirtfish contains mostly tarmac plus what I would assume tarmac with some loose gravel over it. There is also a section with more gravel, but I guess it's a different type of gravel to what's on the actual stages.

It's great fun throwing the cars around in Dirtfish, I can do that all day long :)

Thanks for the quick answer again and bringing these facts up.
It's really great to see the amount of work done to make it correct especially when it is so unique to RX vs other disciplines in the game. I think it shows some serious dedication from the devs side!
And i have now learned something new again!

Would you like or consider to work similarly in-depth what you did with Cooper, with some manufacturer regarding Rally tires in future or have you even already done so?
