Another aspect of racing games and winning is some people are very good at gaming the game, that is leveraging exploits to maximum effect. Personally, that's not why I play games but, it's also why I dislike MP so much; too many players using exploits.  In real life racing, finding advantages can make the difference but, when games provide loopholes for those that choose to use them while others want to drive with more realism and immersion in mind, the playing field becomes very unbalanced.

It's not really an exploit, since it's how sim driving model perceive how the car should be driven on the limit. Although, it can be considered an exploit, because of too much misperception of thinking early on throttle=faster & those who are aware it is slower doing it that way, have a lead advantage.

Because of the math physic model, if you're in deceleration force just before the apex during the entry & the corner lead to the opposite direction, the deceleration force become acceleration force alongside you add throttle force over it, which drastically improve your corner exit. This is why the car accelerate faster although you accelerate much later.

If you feather the throttle just before the apex, it add acceleration force that will turn out a fight that deceleration on the exit, because you throttle early... Result, slower exit speed. You can test it yourself in different games.

^^
Statement above is based on the same exact racing line & car setup

In real life, the car would simply spin out with a snap oversteer or drifting due to lack of weight in the back end, but in the sim the car remain pretty much neutral & stable.

Sorry, I meant that as more of a general observation than specific to your point.

If you hear this podcast (in Spanish), the modder says there are some physics part in the code that makes no sense. But they are fixable. For me the "rush theory" is stronger everyday.

Unfinished games are to be released as Early Beta, or Early Access, and then they get FIXED. D4 never got to that second part. Those guys from GO Gaming are kicking ass!

When mod teams are successful, they sometimes evolve into game development studios. Imagine a future where serious Rally titles reach a point where Road-racing titles are at right now. Rally has some way to go despite having a few options right now - the only one that I play is DR because Dirt 4 is . . . well, Dirt4  - and WRC7 and SLRE don't support my hardware.

Hardware support is just not an issue on the Road-Racing Sim side. The Sim studios just "get me". :)

This looks really cool and could be the future of Rally Stages modelling, trees and road don't have the Quality to be awesome but buildings and Surface (apart from the road) looks awesome, I think that with this technique thousands of Euros can be saved or used to create more stages.
