SLRE is unplayable for my 51 year old ass................lol.And the sounds !!!!!!!! wow

maybe ill fire it up again.I tried to really enjoy Loebs early FWD cars ,but besides some decent looking country road sections on some few stages ,this game does not have an intuitive handling model.

MrDeap ok but on dirt the game is very responsive and there are players who abuse steering wheel settings and controllers to make better time
I'm one of those dude who see exploit as being part of the sport. Although I more willingly to share it as part of the gameplay.

Although the exploit behind it is not due to the reduction of the steering ratio. It's more about not having the right perception to drive around the driving model, which result placebo by lowering the steering ratio by getting trolled by it.

What I mean is that if you envision realism too much, it will turn against you in the virtual world.

Imo 'exploit' is about the most unsporting thing you can do.
Sure there are limit to where it's unsporting, like heavily cutting the track... But there are time the game just don't provide anything to go around it, that it's less of an headache to all accept the exploit & just play with it as long it is fairly documented publicly.

In fighting game which is the most respected esport is very focused on exploit.

Obviously some character may get banned for use if it offer no challenge or being over powered.

Whilst stood in a field in Belgium waiting for Belgian and British championship crews to come past,it just occurred to me that I haven't logged on here yet to make my annual "please put Ypres stages in your next rally game" appeal.

So here goes.

Please Codies, put Ypres into your next game.

Same here, great week end on the westhoek roads. Please codemasters.

Looks pretty fun to drive and slide around those corners. The engine configuration seems to be heavily tweaked to produce enough power output.

ça a l'air bien à Condroz ;)
Heavily tweaked to produce enough power??  It’s a Porsche 911!!  lol

loeb needs to go back to pikes as his record was beaten.
And by 16 seconds! The new record was set by Volkswagen Motorsport with the VW I.D. R Pikes Peak, 4WD full electric with 680 hp. Dumas made it to the top in 7:57.148.
And that is some serious speed, no doubt. Since the road was paved cars look more and more like LMP prototypes, but this allows for greater downforce and speed, so I don't think the hillclimb has become less dangerous or interesting than the recent future...

Dakar game is still coming: https://twitter.com/DakartheGame

But in 2019 the race was only going to run in Peru: https://www.motorsport.com/dakar/news/dakar-2019-to-take-place-solely-in-peru-1038686/

Although that's now in doubt: https://www.motorsport.com/dakar/news/peru-uncertainty-leaves-dakar-2019-in-the-balance-1047085/

Full electric means it's not susceptible to altitudinal loss of power. Cheaters.

I wouldn't call that "cheating"... And that is compensated by the added weight of the batteries. So I think they just did a great job at developing the car, and I honestly find this fascinating. Well, not as fascinating as a 405 T16 driven sideways by Ari Vatanen, but still. It's a differenti way of being interesting

My only comment on VW Pikes Peak:

I see, nor hear, any difference between the two

and this sounds better than both.  (start at 1:52)

The weight of the electric engines is nothing compsred to a petrol engine. Maybe the car is a bit heavier but where you put the weight is more free to choose. This is a advanrage. And yes the constant power also high on the mountain is what makes the difference. Would be interesting to see interval times.

Well, I thought it was a 911 carrera or turbo, turned out to be a GT3 RS.. lol my heavily tweaked apologies.

GT3 RS is obviously the meanest among the 911 models..
