Time Trial penalties and the AI

Recommended Posts

These two are my main annoyances with this game.
Time Trial
Can't replay my fastest lap after I've done another lap or quit.
Penalties are too harsh. For example: I was on a good lap in Brazil. After exiting turn 7 I got on the gas a little bit too early (I use medium tc but there's no explanation otherwise) and I got a kick of oversteer. I corrected it but my rear left slid over the kerbs just a little bit for far less than a second. Next thing I know my lap time was invalidated. Utter bullshit. When I watch hotlaps on YT I see them pretty clearly cutting the corners and yet they get no penalty. Oh and remember CM: On the kerbs is not over the kerbs. It makes it really hard to attack for example the last 2 corners in Canada.
The AI
They follow the racing line perfectly, which is very unrealistic and causes trains when a car is going slowly. I can even hold up the entire pack just because they don't leave the racing line, only when cars catch up to the train they have a lot more speed and for some reason do overtake.
They have engine blowups too often.
They don't avoid crashed cars when they're even a little bit on the racing line.
The AI in the race and the AI in qualifying are like day and night.
When I make a pitstop the crew are way too cautious when they release me.

I may add more later.

@Smeriald - do you use cockpit view? - the time trial invalidating lap times used to annoy me, but then i realised that in cockpit view, it can feel as though you are on the track, but in a replay, you can see you were marginally all 4 wheels off the track - it is annoying, but it does force you to drive with less mistakes. What annoys me most, is that there are different corner cut rules between time trial and multiplayer/career mode, and it is difficult to switch between them, when the rules are so drastically different.

Nope, TV-Pod. I watched the replays even.
