Where is Patch 1.8.0?!

Recommended Posts

This is exactly why we need to stop running out and buying this game every cycle and that goes for any annual release game. The last F1 game I bought before this one was 2011 and I really enjoy 2016, but I'm probably going to hold out on next year's offering. I just refuse to accept mediocrity when a game like Borderlands II received an update almost 3 yrs after it was released! It's the same thing every year with games like this. Support for a few months. Take a break (well deserved) and then forget about the game all together (not cool). The way you deal with this is stop spending your money. Crying and complaining does nothing.

I agree on the high costs for games like these, ending with many bugs and lacking some essential features. Therefore I prefer a 2017 DLC including the updates cars and tracks, as well as the new F1 drivers, for less money instead of paying another 70 euro .

Don't forget it takes time to iron out glitches and fix issues. It's also the holiday period so I would assume they're toning down their activity until the new year to relax. I appreciate that you all are upset with the game's state but don't take it out on the devs- yet.

They also can't just add in anything they want; they have to go through FOM first. This also takes time, meaning that if any additions were made we probably wouldn't get them for a while.

I really want the next update as much as the next guy but what you guys have to understand is that they can't ship out a fix in 2 days that will clean everything up, because it's simply not possible.

The main problem is a lack of communication currently. Good thing there's SteamDB so I can at least predict what they're working on (still on MacOS build, nothing new on normal branch). And now with Mobile versions being out... I'm sad. Can we finally get some sort of news? Just what the *bleep* is going on?
Also, MOST developers do go on "Christmas-y" holiday period - even CM, they always go for it. If we don't hear anything at all from CM until next Thursday or Friday (next week I mean, not this week), don't expect anything until January.

I don't think we should expect any updates to console for F1 2016 this year. It would have made a nice Christmas present though!

CM prefers to make a version for new buy printers for mac, than come here and try to solve the version for windows! In the meantime, racing leagues stops, or changed because of bugs and other problems!

And we're all here waiting for a new patch. But CM has no interest in improving the game now!

Codemasters you should be ashamed. No news or community feedback. Your game still has so many bugs always the same with you guys. Year in year out. I've basically paid £40 for an unfinished game again and you can't guys can't even be bothered to get your butts in gear and actually try and fix the problems. What's worst is you guys can't even be bothered to speak to us.

Sad to see that there are no updates anymore, I'm thinking of not buying F1 2017 then...
I mean it's a fun game and all around release but after that it just dies down and this keeps repeating.

What a load of bollocks. They fixed a patch in 2 days in August. But now they've got their money they don't care.

Instead of CM come and talk that will no longer support the game. They prefer to be silent making us believe they can come. I hope you get at least one more patch next year! How it came out for 2015 this year.

I doubt it's even Codemasters themselves that are working on the MacOS Steam build -- that's usually done by Feral Interactive.

we must resign ourselves that there will be only an update, perhaps for February and then CM will start working for the F1 2017.

I'd be amazed if they're not already working on F1 2017. Probably started as soon as F1 2016 shipped, if not before...  that's how most software on a regular release cycle works.

There will be no patch once again we have all been mugged off by this utter disgrace of a company! You wankers ain't even got the decency to make some sort of reply when you have people on this thread literally pleading with you to answer them! Your as good as thieves just keep stealing our money every year! Well im getting mine back and I will make sure everyone I've ever raced with does the same. The truly sad thing is we will do this dance again next year when we will get another load of empty promises, half truths and non-commital garbage, well not me you've had your last penny out of me and I encourage everybody on this forum to do likewise,it's the only way to stop these crooks stealing our money.

I would hope so but I don't think that's the case. I don't even think they have the license yet for 2017 and that's why we are not going to see a patch anytime soon. To the average player the game is "working",  they are mainly just confused by the tire rules.  So why would CM spend money to push out another patch when they might not be making another F1 game?
My two, cents, if CM gets license, we will then see a patch.

I am an experienced player, not an average player!
for this I hope for a patch as soon as possible!

I don't think they do either, but assuming they have any intention of trying to renew it, they'd be mad to just stop development until they know either way.
