Recommended Posts

Its been a while since 1.7 is out there. There is still a lot of work to do but its a little quite now from CM.
Is there a new patch coming? Is there any eta? Can someone tell us?

The safest answer would be: No. Don't expect any major patches for this game anymore. Codies have gone silent (again), which is never a good thing.

When was the final 2015 patch before it was decided nothing else was worth fixing and moved on to the next years game? Have we reached that point I wonder...

This should give an idea of the chances of them lifting a finger to resolve screen tearing issues:

http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/39533/xbox-one-screen-tearing-f1-2015

Its something they have been aware of for a long long time. I had another thread in the Beta forum for the exact same thing about the 2016 beta. Nothing doing.

I think someone posted elsewhere that the team had refocused to implement F1 2016 on mobile platform and from what I've seen and read the product still needs some polishing up before it can earn 5 star recommends.  I'm sure they haven't forgotten consoles, just that there is more of a profit margin to be had when you consider the millions worldwide who play Real Racing 3, the customers they're after!  But for the most part, I'm sure they'll be tooting in soon with news of a pending update for consoles - just my two shillings on the matter.

Lozzy made a thread about it just a while ago. They (by they I mean CM) were trying to get the patch released by Abu Dhabi, but there were a ton of bugs. A huge one was rendering. This means that the PS4 Patch will be delayed. The Xbox One release date will not be affected by this though. This is because they send the Xbox Patch to Microsoft after they send the PS4 patch to Sony. It will take a few days at least. No info other than this is released yet because Lozzy didn't want to put out info if the patch was not complete. The link to the thread can be found here: http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/36246/ps4-patch-update-26th-november#latest
That thread is from November 2015.

Excuse me while I facepalm myself to Dubai.

@larryl I really wish they are still working on PS4, Xbox one and PC versions... there is a lot of issues still not fixed (screen tearing, frames drops, pixelated screen on PS4, too mcuh aliasing, textures that appears lately)... otherwise it will be a big lack of respect for their customers.

Oh well. Sad, isn't it?

Tyre degradation glitch, then there is is this weird glitch where some cars do not start on their Q2 tyres, oh, and that silly racing line glitch in Baku that was *added* by a patch. And I really thought Codemasters turned around this year.

But I'm sure there are plenty of reasons the player base won't see a fix for these issues. At least we can look forward to some fixes in F1 2017. And some new bugs

I feel stupid. Buy this game every year in pre-sale. And the code shows no interest in solving the bugs of this game!

I understand their situation. At some point you just have to start focusing your resources on the next game for the next season. There's no money in doing free technical support. There's money in building a Mac version and a mobile version. But it's almost 2017 and it's time to move on to the next generation. Personally, I'm going back to something else. I really really wanted this game to be good. I really really wanted it to be fun. But the other night just sealed it for me. I was trying to run some quick races at Italy and TEN (10) times in a row a bunch of cars piled up in front of me in the first turn and came to a dead stop. Dead stop! Like I95 at rush hour.  If I so much as touched one of them, I was given a two second penalty. By the time the mess cleared, the leaders had a 45 second lead. Ten times in a row! Ten! (I did a race restart each time) . Maybe it happened 10 times in a row because that's the way it's scripted for each session. But scripted? Really? Scripted? That is not fun and that's why I do this. If I want misery, I'll go to work.

@BoothJoe - It's more the fact that we're receiving no comment from Codemasters about patches. If they at least told us "look, we're working on F1 2017 and that's where our main focus is" then fair enough, but they haven't.

can you read minds??? I am thinking the same thing, probably buying the next one in pre-sale either. Every year hoping for a change from CM, every year for nothing.....
