Why is the car feeling different in time trial than career mode in F1 2016?

Recommended Posts

I've bought the game this week and I've started to do some laps in time trial. Yesterday I started the Career Mode and chose Renault. Free practise in Australia: the car has a lot of oversteer, the brakes seems not good and the tyres block at the beginning of the brake. So I made some laps in time trial with the same car, the same setup and same assists (just TCS on medium). The car is completely different: no oversteer, the brakes are good and the tyres don't block.
Then why is the car feeling so different in the two mode?

Yeah, I know there's no tyre wear, engine wear or fuel wear, but the difference is in the first lap too. So I suppose it is as you say, one is fully uprgraded while the other isn't.

Fuel wear? That's a new one. I think you mean there is no fuel in TT.

I didn't know the cars are fully upgraded in TT, source?

For some reason or another every game I have played (on xbox) felt different with tire wear and no tire wear. I don't play career in any game so I cant comment on the upgrade.

In TT you have perfect track conditions, whereas in career mode the track is green at the start of the weekend making the car feel awful

Yes. By fuel wear I mean that there is no fuel in the car.

I don't have a source for that right now. I know I got it somewhere, but I forgot. xD

Yes. One is fully upgraded while the other isn't. In career the cars are at default and you have to upgrade them. Also, at the start of practice (if you are comparing practice) the track has no rubber on it (I forgot what its called when it's like that. Isn't it "green"?) and in TT the track is at peak condition.

Yeah I don't think the TT cars are fully upgraded. Doing a one shot quali with a 75% upgraded Renault feels way better than doing it in TT.

@Rustylaz91 The cars in TT aren't upgraded but use the base 2016 performance. In career mode you start with that same base car and improve it to make it faster, so a season 2 upgraded Mercedes in career would be much faster compared to the TT mode Mercedes in optimal conditions.

I'm pretty sure the difference in how the car feels you're describing is because TT has optimal track conditions ( rubbered in track/ optimal grip levels/tyre temps etc) , while in career practice, especially practice 1, the track isn't rubbered in so it's a lot slower and harder to drive, it becomes faster with every session. Compare TT to a qualifying 3 session for example and they should be the same pace/feel of the car.
