Wheel recommendations

Recommended Posts

I've always played F1 games using a controller but every top player I see uses a wheel. Does it really makes a difference and is it still worth it for someone like me and might it help me to learn how to driving no assists? If yes, does someone recommend buying T80, or there are huge differences between G27/G29/T300 and T80?

You surely havent seen every top player if you think top players play just on wheels. You can be just as qucik on controller as on wheel. Ofcourse on a wheel will be easier when you get used to it and better experience as well.

For a wheel im not the right person to answer because i havent played on wheel since i bought ps4. But from what I've read on couple of forums you will have to get at least T150 to get a good experience. Otherwise is not worth it. But that's what i read so you will have to get confirmation from someone else.

I have a Thrustmaster TMX. First I was slower than with controller (been playing on a controller since f1 2010) but after getting used to the controls I am now almost on ultimate difficulty. With controller I could onle manage expert.

One important tip is get a wheel with ForceFeedback the immersion is INSANE :D

Great EstrayOne. Thank you for the answer. One question: do you recommend the TMX as well or have you find other one else more interesting to buy?
P.S: Thank you hope as well hahahaha. I can only manage expert with the controller too and I just strugle at many tracks withou TCS on mediums... Hope one day I can manage no assists or Ultimate difficulty too.

Definitely recommend the TMX as an entry level wheel. If you have more money to spare I would go with a little more expensive one. I don't know about other brands but thrustmaster products never gave me problems.

Yeah I still race with TC on medium, I find with TC off its a little to unforgiving.

Good luck!
