glad the forum is back, well done Codemasters !!

Well to start of this thread/discussion and to celebrate the new forum i made a new custom livery for the DiRT3 game.

Car: Subaru Impreza WRX STI SRT USA
Livery: SRT USA 4x Rally America National Championship titles car
Driver & codriver: David Higgins & Craig Crew
Rally: Olympus Rally 2012

Insane Particles is a mod I had been working on.... replay starts about half-way through

I was working on a remake until recently. I'll probably post progress towards the end of June, once i get my PC back out.

I've also noticed that WRC4 seems to be capable of producing infinite particles whereas DiRT 3 seems to peaks at a certain amount, after which it starts glitching up.

after decreasing gravity in Mexico, i found that the trails basically lasted for the entire map, so you could see them as far behind the car as the camera could.

Hopefully Codies' next Rally Game has the same capability.

Hopefully it won't need to be modded for that.

We'll see when it's out.

@hoonhead, I have tried that. Usually that ends with me wiping out, but I do survive sometimes...

I did once get the AI sand (not red) particles to be very long and completely blinding by combining this one with the newer version, but I had to scrap it once the actual player particles began glitching.

This is why its important to rely on your codrivers pace notes.  Just in RL.

@gfRally, That's also why it's important to get used to the co-driver's timings. Usually, I either react too early or overestimate the distance to the turn. That, or I simply don't see the roadside hazards until I collide.

Hello,

this time i made a RAID car. It is converted from DiRT2 but i redid the windows, wheels and i added a few extra stickers on the body so it matches the 2008 Baja Portalegre 500 edititon.

Car: Mitsubishi Racing Lancer

These liveries are nice, but I can't download them, I have no .xsd file and I can't open an .xml file with D3 Modder Tool. Does anybody know how to do it? I don't want to replace liveries.

@oscar97, dont know why you should need .xsd or xml or d3 modder. Just copy the cars folder and rename it to cars_original. Then download the custom liveries and put them in the cars folder. Now you have a cars folder with original liveries and a cars folder with custom liveries. Switch between them by renaming them, the game only recognizes the folder called cars.

Btw if you bakcup your original files you can always go back to the original state of the game.

Go to RallyGamers site to download the tools you need to use the liveries and it does replace the liveries, so just make a backup of the folder containing the default liveries if you don't want to use the modded liveries anymore.

Here is a terrible livery I made last year, based on the Manta in the Dutch TV series "New Kids".

Altho it isn't the exact car that was used in the series/movies (which was an Opel Manta B if I'm correct) it still looks kinda like it.
