Corrupt Save File / Console Patches

However, these same people are now complaining about them taking their time to test and put out a patch to fix the majority of the bigger problems, even after being told that the initial patch had some problems. Seriously? The hell is wrong with you people? I bet you're the folks who will receive a hundred dollars, and then complain about it not being in 20's.

Yes, people are complaining because they should have taken their time to test it BEFORE IT WAS RELEASED TO RETAIL.  They rushed that, and now that they have our money, they sit back and take their time - so yes, people are pissed off.  This was not a crowd-funded project where we donate money to pay for the development process to occur later - I paid retail price for a supposedly finished product, didn't receive one, and being in the US, I can't get a refund for an opened physical copy of a game.

@crazytrainZ28.  Guess it mayyers who you talk to but the rep i spoke to told me you have to have less than 8 percent of trophys. And since i had quite a bit more they told me CM would have to give me the refund. I explained I did everything and started over several times before attemptimg to get a refumd and womt have those trophys when I restart and he said didnt matter. Less than 8 percent is max for refumd..

And the process of installing the game on a second PS 3 ?  Really, who has multiple PS 3 SYSTEMS? I dont have issues with 99 percent of games I play so why would I keep

more than one system.

So, today i got my second savegame corrupt after 173 career races. I never played multiplayer, racenet challenge, i only played Singleplayer Careermode, Touring Car Section. After a session i quit the game from main menue and as you can't see in PS3 XMB Screen, if the savegame is ok or not, i always started the game again only to see if the savegame is ok and didn't do anything and quit the game again in order to not initiate an autosave. After that i backuped the file either in the online cloud or on an USB Stick. Today after playing i did the same procedure but when starting the game the game told me that the savedata is corrupt. I deleted the savedata and copied my newest Backup on the Harddisc and the game started without a Problem - but i know, now i can't proceed anymore since after 3 or 4 races the file gets corrupt again.

I never quit the game while autosave, always from main menue, i know what i'm doing. So this example shows that the game produces corrupt savedata only playing offline the career mode. No online Features are necessary. There must be a General big Bug and i really wonder, why this couln't be revealed before release. I'm really disappointed and I'm thinking of getting a refund from Sony (i have the download-Version). I would say if the bug isn't fixed until October i won't buy F1 2014.

And I'm not sure if a patch really can fix this, as it is too complex. CM should take all retail Versions and put them into the garbage, the download-Versions should be deleted and a completely "new" G:AS should be released without any bugs. The costs of all that have to be payed by CM. They have produced this product that is not ready for use.

i had to reset my single player progress as it was causing corruptions after 199 sp races, i backed up a good sp save on usb stick so that i can continue it once patch is live.

i have now had 10+ corruptions (stopped counting). some caused by car values, some caused by tuning upgrade glitch and 2 caused by game freezing whilst saving after mp race and hard locking my ps3.

so frustrating, but im determined to keep playing.

im now able to play online again.

OK, but i'm more singleplayer type and want to proceed in career mode. But that's not possible and i won't begin a new Profile a third time. I can wait, but if the time period is too long, i really get angry. If the Problem can't be fixed, CM has to admit this and take the game from the market and give full refund to the Customers. The internal legal Solutions between CM and Microsoft/Sony/Retailers etc. are not our Problem.

When they had a similar "corrupt save file" problem with Grid 2, the patch worked perfectly.  I still play Grid 2 about one a week.  So I am hopeful that this patch will work equally well.

With Grid 2, the problem did not emerge until I had bought almost all the downloadable content.  (And for awhile, some incorrectly thought that the problem had to do with that content.)  That problem took months to confirm and finally fix.

Now someone just has to inform the "coding masters" that there is something wrong with their save module and to stop putting Loore through this ordeal with every Grid release.

I'm the other way around I'm getting the Halo's mostly vecause I've not played them before with the exception of 1 and 2 for PC and the fact that Halo has Singleplayer as well as multi is the main reason I'm choosing it. Plus I don't really enjoy MMO's really

Let me just say this also about what people are having to do above and beyond ANY GAME I HAVE EVER bought. I should be able to put the game on and play without worrying if it will crash if it will lock what i have to do to save progreas ect... It is CRAZY what some people think is ok. I am truly beyond disappointed and will probably never buy another CM product again. Maybe that doeant matter to them but if enough of us take the same stand it will.

Yeah I was just pointing out that the rest of the world won't be getting it. Anyway, there's a glitch at San Fransisco. Sometimes, the car will just randomly get chucked left/right on the straights and on the hill jumps it will sometimes randomly throw the car onto its roof

That's not so much a glitch as "Why did Codemasters model the potholes and bumps in the roadworks and tarmac patches?!" because that's the reason behind it. San Fran has those patches of resurfaced tarmac modelled, they cause the cars to bounce all over the place if you get unlucky and clip the edges of them.

Grid 2 still corrupts if you don't let it save properly. Say, if you dashboard on the race results screen. Since the patch that fixed corruption on grid 2 I haven't had a problem. 3,000+ races. I've seen people with 10,000+.

Fixing the "broken game" problem should have been first priority!!!
Another dev full of themselves!!!!!!!

And I can't get over them trying to sell us DLC at the same time. Just WOW!!!!!!!!

I'm sure it is priority 1.

Fixing these issues takes time and i'm sure they are all working hard to get it fixed. They should however greatly improve their Q & A before releasing a game, i think this is something we can all agree on as there are just too many bugs in the release version.

No way it was priority #1 when they worked on every bug in the game at the same time. Knowing it would take 3 times as long or longer to get the patch passes. They should have just fixed the "corrupt save file" all by itself, got us back to playing, then moved on to the rest of the bugs. But noooooooo, they didn't think it was that serious to its customers. They would rather us just sit and not play for 2 months maybe longer. It is a disgrace!!!!!! I own my own business, trust me, I would have fixed the broken game first and got everyone back to playing. This is INSANE.

Just look at this list. Getting us back to playing ASAP was NOT a priority!

And what do you propose all the other Grid developers should have done while the perhaps two or three at most who could work on the corrupt save bug at any one time did so? Putting 10 people to work on it wouldn't have fixed it 10 times faster.

I propose they fix the darn game and like last month!
I don't care if it takes 3 or 10 guys to get it right, the game does not work! It is broken! And why would anyone defend them at this point? Who are you? You work for CM? You enjoying a broken game?
IF you get into your car in the morning to go to work and it won't start because your battery is dead, should you stop and wash the car, fix the torn seat, etc., instead of just charging the battery and getting to work on time?
Again,  they have taken almost 2 months and the main problem is still broken, and from what I have been reading here, they had the same problem with previous Grid games. So in the last few years instead of figuring out what the problem is and fixing it, they make yet another game with the same problem. And try to sell us more DLC. I mean, WTF???

WOW, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what is going on here.
