G920 Force Feedback not working in Dirt Rally

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently picked up Dirt Rally after getting a Logitech G920 but I have been unable to get any form of  FFB working in game. The game recognizes the wheel but regardless of  the settings, it feels like I am turning the steering wheel whilst in menus or out of game etc with absolutely no FFB.

The Force Feedback is working great on other titles and is only an issue for Dirt, which leads me to believe that my Logitech settings are not the problem.

Any help would be greatly appropriated

I too have a G920 and have had problems with Forcefeedback, my problem was that the feedback did not feel quite right.

To try nad help itendify what might be wrong, try answering these questions...
  1. Do you have Logitech Gaming Software version 8.89.68 installed?
  2.  In the sttings menu of Logitech Gaming Software (the cog symbol), on the 920 tab page have you got "Allow Game To Adjust Force Settings" checked?
  3. Are you running firmware version 96.3.49 (also displayed on same page)?
  4. In Dirt Rally have is the G920 listed under the controller options and have you got it selected?
  5. Have you calibrated the wheel and pedals?
  6. Finally, what Force Feedback settings are you using? (If have to set mine quite high).

Thanks for the reply.

I have gone through all you suggestions and everything seems to be as it should everything up to date, G920 recognised in the game settings and calibrated,

I have played with the Force Feedback Settings and downloaded a number of presets from steam however regardless of what I set them at it I get nothing. I have driven with them turned off and there is no difference when they are turned on.

Thanks

When I was having issues with my G920 I read a post that suggested trying a different USB port. Personally I can't see it making any difference, but I'm out of other ideas and so maybe worth a shot?

I have noticed that lowering the Steering Saturation to 60 greatly improves the force feedback feeling.  But this is on my setup which gives feedback, albeit bad feedback, with stock settings.

<Solved>

Thanks, for those that tried to help.

For anyone that may find and are having the same problem, I fixed it by completely reinstalling all Logitech software on my computer.

I think the LGS was not registering Dirt Rally as having FFB and there for using the return spring instead. It is now working great!

Have you used the Logitech software to adjust the wheel?  I use a G920 and have spent many hours getting it right.  I found if  I create a custom setting for Dirt (in the Logitech window) then tell the Logitech to be the "Default & Persistent" setting it works well on Dirt. The problem I have is every time I install another driving game it overwrites the Dirt settings.
