Hope they add Dirt rally locations for free, better AI for spectators, showcase mode when choosing car or a garage mode i would apreciate that i love seen my cars displayed with mud or damaged or shiny and new, and thats it, best Rally game ever.

Well of course, after No Man's Sky flop most people are skeptical if it comes to procedual generated content. But there is quite a difference between  a procedual generated world and mixture of procedual generation and handcrafted content, like they do with DiRT 4. No Man Sky did throw a bad light on procedual generation which ruinend the chance for other developers to actually a good use of this technique.

If they talk about millions of tracks its obviously marketing-bullshit. After like 20-30 tracks in one setting you see similar patterns over and over again, but 30 tracks are 30 tracks.

As well every person has different preferences. Personally I prefer completel handcrafted content and experiences, but to this point I don't know a Triple-A-Racing-Game making use of procedual generated tracks. So they should get a chance to show what their procedual engine can do.

codemasters seems to be on the hypetrain with all the morons who like car games like need for speed, people that buy the game and play it for a week or less, so much for listening to a community, its all about where the money is, and the money wasnt in dirt rally 2, sadly i fear they will only make a half shitty version of that, if and when they cant milk anymore out of dirt4.. im very dissapointed, dont really care about big trucks and whatever american shite they gonna put in the bastard :(

You read absolutely zero about the game and are assuming 80% of the game is american trucks? Don't hurry, June is still 6 months away, enough time to read the few paragraphs of info.

Well with the start of "DiRT" the franchise has never been about pure Rally alone, apart from Dirt ""Rally"" - DiRT per default is the focused idea of all kinds of dirty motorsports, so get over it. I am sure DiRT Rally as an franchise itself is not over as well.
Even DiRT Rally has rallycross and hillclimb in it. Rallycross is a big part of the game as well.

actually ive read all i could find about the game, and yet i am dissapointed, in my opinion Dirt Rally was awesome! and i really hoped for more of that content, so only 5 locations and "almost infinite" random generated tracks does not sound very promising to me, instead i can se a bunch of people being busy on posting "my truck is bigger than yours" stuff on dirts facebook.. kinda does seems like all class and respect is gone.

So, you're criticising a game in pre-alpha that nobody knows a whole lot about yet, based on opinions which can only be described as completely unfounded and exaggerated beyond belief.

You argued the infinite tracks being a bad point (DO YOU DISLIKE INFINITE CONTENT!?) whilst linking it in with an unrelated comment about people posting stuff about who has the bigger truck, which I'm sure hasn't happened and will not ever happen at all.

I think you just...

While I think generated tracks is cool (so long as it works), and I'm gonna play the crap out of them if so, quite a few of us would have preferred real tracks, laser scanned, if it was possible.... we've been told it wasn't, so we have to accept what they could do.

How someone could be kept from putting public roadways into a game I'll never understand, but that's what we get for allowing steam and consoles to take over game markets.

Lmao @ everyone speaking what the "community wants. Roughly only 10% of gamers ever vist forums based on the game they play and usually only 1% of them actually post. That leaves a lot of people who's opinion isn't voiced.

This "community" is a very minimal part of the total people that play the game. A far cry from what "everyone" wants. As usual, just a bunch of entitled idiots that think what they want is what everyone really wants.

Them theres the idiots crying that the handling is going to be 100% arcade. Those are the idiots that can't be bothered to read anything but the info that's spoon fed to them.

I for one am very excited for this game. Dirt rally was down right awful. I feel bad that I bought it, twice. But, it was a budget game that paved the way for dirt 4. And one thing I can praise dirt rally for is the graphics and car sounds. Those are absolutely stunning. But great graphics mean not when game play is pure rubbish.

yes very funny, actually im just saying that im dissapointed, because i had hoped for something different, and yes, completely on my own exaggerated belief of what i might fear will happen (and the bits i could find around), i might think this game is going to be bad... i dont think the "infinite" tracks are going to work out well, no..
and about the vehicle posting, its to be found under the new profile picture on Dirt´s facebook page, happy reading..

I've read that the Your Stage feature works really well in pre-alpha, so I'm quite confused about all of the pessimism - sorry.

equaling procedually generated content with infinite possibilities is a bad idea.
what we will get is bigger amount of variations of an always similar setting.
the most interesting thing about this, is that we get a most likely unpredictable track, which is good, but nowhere mindblowing.
its a great addition the premade tracks, but nothing one must hate to death or hype to death

What? Huh?  That makes less than zero sense.
First off, you're complaining about something that isn't possible, then you say Steam and consoles are responsible for licensing deals?

Just thought about the fact that Pikes Peak is probably out now too.... so much for that.
Can't have everything I'm afraid! It was probably the least popular of the 3 events in dirt rally, and if it was back for dirt 4 then people would probably just complain that there wasn't any new content!
Except nobody gives a **** about trucks and buggies... get over yourself, I think one of the devs needs another ****.
i confess, i like trucks and buggies and baja and pikes peak and landrush and millions routes, rally, usa tracks - michigan is awesome, i like spain, australia, i like CODEMASTERS, hell yeah whatever they do i like..... <3 ;) if this game is gonna be a mix of dirt2, dirt3 and dirt rally i am that kid in the candy store i was when dirt2 came out, aweeesooome. They even gonna introduce the evo 6 again, can't wait to rally it.
Agree im a fan of Trophy trucks and buggies DiRT 2 was the best in my opinion.

Just to be clear, they have never used laser to scan any stages. They photographed and tape measured.

As was said in some interview (maybe it was in one of the DiRT Shows), that when you laser scan a track, you still need to adjust and edit it to fit your game and it would actually be more work than just to make the tracks from scratch using photographs and tape measure

So much hate around here all of the sudden.  We have a new title with new locations and more content.  Once again I've said it a million times, but I'm guessing you can almost guarantee more stages through DLC.  Codies want to make money so why wouldnt they use the same strategy that every other game company does now-a-days.  Look at bf1...they give you what 6 maps at release? Then plan out 4 or 5 more expansion packs?  Who's to say they don't bring out some other locations for us to race at.  The big thing is that like in dirt rally, the 5 locations are unique...and that allows for each rally to be appealing.  The only thing I see that is really missing is having stages that are like in Monte where you have clean fast tarmac at the beginning to end on ice and snow at the end.  Hopefully  Spain maybe has tarmac to dirt at least, or the Michigan stages...

THIS!!!!

Just pulled this off steam

‪I'll be honest and say that I haven't had time to read the gossip thread today as I have been very busy talking to the press today. As I sit alone in a bar waiting for some food I thought I'd write this just so you know. ‬

‪We built DiRT 4 on the simulation that started with DiRT Rally. We've improved the simulation (Aero, Chassis, Tyres and much more) Basically all the stuff that you have been asking for. ‬

‪We've not dumbed anything down, we've just given players more ways to learn and get comfortable with rally so that the people who love the sport but can't handle the sim have a great game that they can play. Those that live for the simulation get an improved experience. I know it's hard to believe but we have managed to achieve both. ‬

‪You've asked for more content and Your Stage is our answer to that. We simply are not allowed to represent the actual iconic stages that we did for reasons beyond our control. What we have created is an incredible piece of technology that means that you will be able to generate new stages in our locations to your hearts content. I've worked in game development for 14 years now and this is the most incredible thing I've ever been involved with. This takes everything we did with DiRT Rally and takes it to the next level. ‬

‪This was a piece of technology that couldn't be added to DiRT Rally, its so much more than that and as more news comes out over the coming months it hope it aligns with your expectations. ‬

‪My food is here now but I hope that helps explain where we are coming from. I'll be catching up with the Gossip thread over the weekend but for now please rest assured that the spirt of Rally is still burning strong. ‬".........Paul Coleman

If people still remain uneducated and scepticle on the direction of this game after that, then they have something wrong with them.

We'll aware, my point was that is what we "would prefer if possible" and have been told it's not. I get that, still not happy about it.
