Rally content on DiRT 4 !

Recommended Posts

Well, then just don't put mountains in them. There are enough Monte and Greece stages that don't go up the mountains at all. Might be boring for Greece if it is flat, but Monte is much more that hairpins. It's mixed conditions with the ice and choosing the right tires (prey to god they decide to put that in) that make monte interesting to me. Ooh well, I hope we'll see them soon enough when they figure out a way to get it working.

If WRC license is the problem, can anyone explain then, why Montecarlo, Finland and other events are in DiRT Rally, but cannot be in DiRT 4 ?

Have you read the above comments regarding Monte Carlo? Literally the 3 comments above yours...?

And how can Sweden, Wales, Spain, Australia be in Dirt 4 when they're in wrc calender? And Greece haven't had a wrc rally event since 2013.

The best way is to use some but small elevation changes in the rallys of Greece and Monte.Colin Mcrae Rally 3 had most of the Greek stages flat.It would also be great if Codies allowed us to make our own tyre choices in Dirt 4.For example,we can do the crossover tire choice for Monte Carlo ((if they put the rally in game)) like they do in real life

The stages aren't based on real life roads from those rallies

They could've added a DLC to DiRT Rally, why the need to bring in a new game and leave these great events out ???
Because dirt rally was far from being a full game. To have enough dlc to fill out the game, the space would be a full game. At the end of the day, dirt rally was rushed and had a very small budget in the grand scheme of things. Also in the grand scheme of things, dirt rally is an old game. Many people don't care about it anymore. And want a real game,  a full game. And dirt 4 is going to blow dirt rally out of the ocean.

Can't they put in real life roads that are not used in rallies? That license can't include every single public/privet road in every country.

What about those locations that used to have a wrc rally event but no longer does. Are even those roads/stages included in the wrc license but license owner is not obligated to put them in any future game (unless it becomes a wrc event location again)?

Exactly, Rally of Sanremo, could've been a great replacement for Monte !

I think I know why they picked those locations, it's for varied terrain:

- Wales = mud
- Sweden = snow
- Michigan = gravel
- Spain = tarmac
- Australia = dust/sand

Could be, but none of these locations are fast and demanding as Finland, beautiful and tough as Montecarlo, unfortunately...

People seem to be underestimating Spain. It is quite the roller coaster of corners.
Indeed - here's one of my favourite onboards - 2001 Rally Catalunya, the Citroën WRC making its debut:

Michigan is very fast. It's flatter than Finland. But it's a real high speed challenge.

Still missing two very key components of rally.... multi surface, and tire choice.

I feel like they nailed it with Pikes Peak  (which predates almost every other motorsport BTW) and with MC... why take both out, and not add something similar at least?

I believe I saw it said that they are considering tire choice.

Wow, I was gone for a while since I lost my hope in Dirt. Now I see Dirt 4 is on it's way with some great improvements. I was very vocal about few changes DR needed, and D4 seems to be delivering some of those (like flying finish). We needed more stages with greater lenght,  not only we got that, we actually get a generator, that's what I call EPIC! Great job codemasters! It actually is a game changer in tracks department IMHO. What we need now and we didn't get any info on is:

- different tire types
-mixed surfaces
- reworked physics (I already discussed that in detail in the past)
-MOD SUPPORT (I know you will want to release DLCs and you are affraid no one will buy them if we get mods, but please be assured- virtual rallying community will support you if you give us a good sim)

I am sure there will be more, but we will have to actually play the game to know.

Thanks!

The game will be half arcade and half sim so i doubt we will be getting longer stages.
