DiRT 4 Confirmed Car List

Recommended Posts

Nah, it's the freakin' 208 R2

  • Body is 11 Peugeot's too short.

It is not.  They have not shown cars they do not have the confirmed license for.

A thought just occured, didn't Codemasters have a look at one of these at some point?

Ryan Champion owns one so they def have access at least.

I remember some stuff was going on with Ryan Champion's lancer last year during some test.

Sound recording for something, something...   :#

Could be Subaru. Mk1 lmpreza wagon. YAAASSS!

Could be Audi, VW or Seat. All three are in DR/D4, all three are under-represented with only one model each, and all three are owned by the bohemoth VWGroup. (Wasn't it said bigger companies tend to lug along slowly because of all the departments?)
Hmm...

In DR there were 2 Audis (group B and Pikes Peak) and 2 VWs (WRC and WRX), in D4 I think there are still 2 VWs (WRX and S1600) and 2 Seats (F2 and WRX). My wish would go towards the Mitsubishi, but if the 2000cc group is final, my second wish is the EKS S1

Citroen has not already been used on DiRT 4. Also C4 and Xsara are out. So, not them I'd say.

Well, there's the DS 3, which is like the Schrodingers Citroen :D

Paul has already said: no 208 R2. Search the Gossip Thread, I believe the post is there.

Oh yeh. I was focusing on Rally only.

I think our guesses should be limited to more "Historic" class guesses.

Yes please. I'll take a VW Golf mk I/II gti to keep that 205gti company.
There's only one BMW too (not including the MINI)
How about a lovely BMW 2002tii?

@warpengage @KickUp I understand correctly that 2000 class doesn't change but other classes could have some last minute extra's?

Crossfingers, crossfingers, crossfingers for the Peugeot 504  <3

I'd be willing to say at best one extra. There's also a big possibility we already have the full list on the OP.

Slightly off-topic, but in DiRT Rally what exactly constitutes American Manufacturers? Ford? Because every Ford I've bought I've assigned the British Manufacturers upgrade perk.
Because... they are all British Fords.
Have I been doing it wrong the whole time?

I'm thinking that might be a bug....

Also, i am useless at thinking of a more 'historic' car that is already in DR and D4, but honestly, i think that's where we need to be looking.

My bet that's it, but it doesn't fit the have been known for slowing things down. This bucket comes with three manufacturers: Audi (livery problem IIRC), Citroen (livery problem ofc) and Peugeot (PikesPeak version)?

I would add Renault to that list too. Considering the alpine and the Renault 5 Turbo were delayed by almost a year

Well.... the Fiesta is actually German, developed by Ford Werke GmbH Köln (Cologne) as is the upcoming Focus. Thinking about it though, there are actually ONLY british and german Fords in DR and D4. But most consider Ford american still, since the FMC is based in the USA.
Which is, for most manufacturers, also the only place where they develop new models. Ford being a little exception here, with actual self-developing sub-companies in GB, Germany and Australia.

I defend the position that the model defines the origin-country, but most see Ford as a whole brand being american.

(despite the fact nobody would say a Ford Falcon Ute is an american car...  at least I hope so... therefor Escorts are british, Focus are german and Mustangs are us-american)

Peugeot 206 was definitely ruled out wasn't it?

Unfortunately yes. But it was weird because @KickUp posted the model on twitter. Hmm...I'd love a 206 in a Total or Esso livery <3

It's his personal account, not an official Codemasters one. And he's a rally car nut, just like us. What self-respecting car fanatic wouldn't post a photo of that!?!? :P

Suzuki Swift S1600 and Citroen C2 S1600 would brilliant. But I've given up the hope for cars from 2002-05 :(

IF there is new Car. than must be only from Modern Class, because in this video is shown car selection from Historic Class, Rallycross, and Landrush and all cars from video are same as our list. so if there is new cars, then it can be only in modern class, as this class was not shown in video car selection..

If we get another car it will probably be added post launch.

Alright, we can work with that - the clue here, is that some manufacturers have different licensing departments dealing with modern cars Vs "historic" cars.

Shame as for me the 206 is the one real glaring omission from dirt (well maybe Toyota too)

I wonder what it would take to get it considering you already have other pug models in there

Aston Martin do that for sure ;) I think Nissan may do too.

Both pretty unlikely though...
