DiRT 4 Confirmed Car List

Recommended Posts

Alright, we can work with that - the clue here, is that some manufacturers have different licensing departments dealing with modern cars Vs "historic" cars.

Aston Martin do that for sure ;) I think Nissan may do too.

Both pretty unlikely though...

Please don't ruin my hopes for the Almera. It's one of my favorite Kit Cars

Oh man, I wish Datsun/Nissan were in the game.
510, 240z and Bluebird
Nissan Sunny GTi-R

Season Pass, 14,99
- 3 additional locations, all ready for YourStage
- 3 additional carpacks with a total of 15 cars

This could solve a lot of all those great suggestions given in here and the gossip thread  :)

Hmmm but I think we will pretty much be in the dark until release what the final car(s) could be.

That would be 14.99 x 3.

Each pack you're suggesting of 5 cars and a location, i think you underestimate how much devtime and licensing that would take.

I understand but we aren't in a hurry ;) On release it already be a very solid package!

Look at Rainbow Six Siege. Depends on how the final product looks - I think a 1-2 year dlc program wouldn't be such a bad idea.
e: I'm also quite sure if the final product makes a significant mark on the market - more manufactures will be willing [weird wording] to be licensed in game.

Has it been said that the R5 class is final? If not I'm putting some money on the brand new (to be revealed next week) Opel Corsa(?) R5.
The more I think about it, the more it all adds up, they kept pushing back the final car list, probably not to spoil the launch of this new R5 car.
Opel had some cars in Dirt Rally (Manta 400 and Corsa S1600 RX), now in Dirt4 they're back along with the Ascona 400.
I saw Paul saying on his twitter they were looking to finalize the car list next week, where Opel will reveal their new R5.
Or maybe I'm just overthinking this and it's all just one big coincidence...

It could be, Codemasters seem not to have many problems with Opel because they also got the Opel Adam R2.
Given that R5 will be the most important class in DiRT 4 I think they want to have as many cars as possible in it

I doubt it, But it would be really cool if it was the case.

That's what I'm thinking too, but u have to admit, they've been really cautious and silent about that car list

Oh I'm really hoping it is. But I'm just trying to be realistic. But it would depend on what stage the opel R5 is in. If it's all done and ready to roll out on the stages this year then it would be possible. But if it's not then it's less likely

The car may be the skoda fabia r5 or it will certainly be the opel adam r5?

It's probably a Corsa instead of an Adam. I think the Fabia is confirmed not to be in the game.

I think folk may be getting ahead of themselves a bit here! Bearing in mind this car is highly unlikely to be running until the end of the year, I find it implausible that it would be in a game that comes out next month. Hopefully it would be a future option for DLC, but I'm relatively certain that it won't be in at launch.

I wouldn't even be certain yet that this is an official Opel Motorsport programme rather than a private initiative, but I suppose the Mitsubishi is in game anyway...

It would be nice if they made a DLC or more DLC with cars in all chapters from Colin McRae to today :o

Would it be possible to add the info about which cars are new to Dirt 4 (compared to Dirt Rally)?  Many cars seem to be carried over (especially the older ones), I wonder which ones are actually new.

So it looks like we have the complete list. Not a bad list in my opinion.

I was hoping there would still be some surprises, but I guess now we'll just have to wait for DLC when/if it arrives

*Warning: I have rally blinkers on, won't play the other modes much*

If I'm being 100% objective, not bad, I agree, but not great either.

We've lost the C4 and 4x 2010 cars, replaced with 4x R5 cars, 2x R2 cars, an Opel Ascona, Peugeot 205 GTi and Mitsubishi Evo VI. All solid additions and I'm a bit fan of the R5 and R2 classes representing the modern sport, but there are some very notable absentees.

Peugeot's R2 car and 206 feature highly and, of course, the notable absence of Toyota and, to a lesser extent, Skoda and Saab jump out a mile.

I understand licencing is difficult and I'm grateful that the historical highlights have carried over from DR, especially the excellent Group B and '70s' sets (though I personally wish the Stratos was in this group still). I don't envy whoever has to do it. But as a consumer, in my most basic form, I miss a Group A Celica, Fabia R5, Peugeot 206, Saab 96, a 70s or 80s Porsche and a 208 R2 and it grates to see the Celica in other games (such as AC).

However, I'm a big fan of DLC as a concept and hope the good list can be transformed into a great one with a couple of the above additions in future and don't get me wrong, I'm going to enjoy the heck out of what is there!
