DiRT 4 Confirmed Car List

Recommended Posts

And I must say that it's impressive that they managed to get a real livery for all but one or two cars (Renaut 5 and the evo x. I'm not sure about those)

Delta ain't running it's Martini colours, Focus is running the test car colours not the (again) Martini, Evo VI also doesn't have the accurate Marlboro livery, the '08-'09 Focus which once more has been named '07 even though the '07 model is different doesn't have an official livery, 037 also without the Martini one and Stratos isn't running in Alitalia colours.

Even if most of them have some real life one, it ain't the thing that we see first when we think of rally versions of those cars. At least not for me. Still, it's a mighty impressive list for sure.

That they won't feature liveries based on alcohol/tobaco is kinda obvious.

That's the 2002 Focus though, but I agree it's nice :)

What a shame that the Mirage R5 it's not the facelift version of the car! Anyways, looking good :p

Let's hope it has the proper wing. We cant really see it from here

http://auto.blog.rs/blog/auto/sport/2014/10/02/trkacki-mitsubishi-r5-space-star

thats the model from the game If the stats are same as in game then 283hp  from 1.6 litre with 1230kg

It could be this too. But I think it's more likely it's the model you posted. Let's wait and see until we get a proper shot of the car ingame

There are a few great liveries on the cars like Burns' 205 GTi
There's also one I've waiting for but nobody ever recreated it for DR: Snijers' BMW M3.
Now Codies have made it as an official livery for that car! And it's the one that we all remember from his stunning drive at the 1988 Manx rally!
Well except for the Bastos stripes, but one of the modders will surely add them at one point. :D

Very happy with the car list but I have to say: Which is the problem with Citröen? Also a 206 in 2000cc class would have been nice.

It's basically down to licencing. Which is a shame.

If I remember from Dirt Rally time. It was not about Car licence. it was  about livery. Citroen did not want other then official livery (and creators of SLRE  had exclusive livery obvious).. Thats why CodeMasters Had to delete all livery they created for Dirt Rally for C4 and put in game only blank Car..

If anyone is keeping track, we lost 13 cars from Dirt Rally, and gained 20 (not counting the fictional Landrush vehicles). Two of the losses could be considered upgrades (Audi Sport quattro Rallye -> S1 E2, Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2011 -> WRX STI NR4).

Out:
Audi Sport quattro Rallye
Audi Sport quattro S1 PP
Citroën C4 Rally 2010
Ford Fiesta RS Rally
Hyundai Rally
MINI Classic Rallycross
MINI Countryman Rally Edition
Peugeot 205 T16 Pikes Peak
Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak
Peugeot 405 T16 Pikes Peak
Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2011
Subaru WRX STI (rallycross)
Volkswagen Polo Rally

In:
Audi Sport quattro S1 E2
Ford Fiesta OMSE SuperCar Lite
Ford Fiesta R2
Ford Fiesta R5
Ford Focus RS RX
Ford RS200 Evolution
Hyundai R5
Lancia Delta S4 Rallycross
MG Metro 6R4 Rallycross
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI
Mitsubishi Space Star R5
Opel Adam R2
Opel Ascona 400
Peugeot 205 GTI
Peugeot 205 T16 Rallycross
Peugeot 208 R5
Seat Ibiza RX
Speedcar Xtrem
Subaru WRX STI NR4
Volkswagen Polo Super 1600

I'll miss the Impreza hatch, rallycross Impreza, C4, and the 2010s cars, but am very much looking forward to the Evo VI, R2, R5, RX Lites, and GpB RX.

The Sierra livery in DR helped me out with getting the livery right on my XR2 racer, glad to hear it's back in again!

I'll miss the Impreza too - love that car - but I'm guessing I'll find a new favourite (i20 R5 :D)

At the risk of sounding like a bit of an entitled **** , is anyone else a little underwhelmed by the car list if this turns out to be final?

Please don't get me wrong; I appreciate that licencing is difficult and I'm not holding Paul or Codemasters accountable for anything here (no doubt they're the most frustrated of all), it's just a mild disappointment that several brands or cars I'd love to see aren't going to be included. I know none of the omissions are really unexpected and, again, I'm certainly not insinuating that the game isn't great value; I'll be pre-ordering well before June.

Now I love what Codemasters were able to do with DiRT Rally and the way each car felt utterly and completely unique. I absolutely fell in love with the Fiat 131 and Hyundai i20 and can't wait to try the DiRT 4 iterations of these and find others I enjoy equally.

But that said, there's a mild tang of disappointment with the lack of Toyota, Saab, Skoda, Nissan, Citroen, classic Porsche and certain models like the 208 R2, 206 WRC and Renault 5 Maxi that would fill in some of the lesser populated classes.

However, this doesn't undermine my excitement at the R5 and R2 classes, as well as the new Ascona, Evo VI, Audi E2 and the Alpine being in the 'correct' class (bring back the Stratos!). The roster really has improved since DiRT Rally and I really am grateful for that and, if the opportunity for rallying DLC is ever presented, I'm sure I'll be first in the digital queue!

It really sucks that certain manufacturers are being so stingy with licensing. It would be nothing but a benefit to the companies, at the very least for brand recognition. I honestly wasn't expecting any manufacturers that weren't in DR to come round for this game though, so I can't say I'm underwhelmed, but it's disappointing.

I'm super happy about the additions, and I'm glad there weren't many omissions from what we already had. Most of the omissions have been replaced with something else (Subaru to Newbaru, 2010s to R5, Quattro to S1E2WTFBBQ, etc.) so I see them as "upgrades" rather than losses. I'm mostly excited to hear the cars we're familiar with that are getting major audio upgrades. Can't wait to hear the 037 and Quattro especially!

EDIT: I noticed something funny when looking at the menu screenshots - SUBARU is in ALL CAPS for SOME REASON.  :D

Not sure the quatro is re recorded....
037 is obviously now a genuine recording along with the Fiesta R5, and there are a few others with new sounds.

It is a little disappointing we don't have a larger diversity added, but I can't complain, it's all wish list stuff.

One thing I will say is that Paul has mentioned the Skoda R5 wont be in at launch.....

I saw that too. I assumed that's because of LICENSING. Woe betide the first manufacturer that requires hashtags be used in-game. Fortunately Scion is #dead.

Bearing in mind we heard last year that they visited Spencer Sport to check out the Mirage R5 last year, I'm guessing that has accurately recorded sounds too.

From the sounds of this, my post above may have been made a bit hastily.

Warning: image heavy post.
All rally classes and cars in the game (Pre-order Hyundai excluded):

Why no Audi in the Group B class in RX though? Oh well, I'm happy either way.
