Now that there is no Bernie - Will we be able to see more content of F1 2017 development

Recommended Posts

Just Curious ..... We had development  diary on the first game , then slowly everything disappeared   as years went by to F1 2016

Whatever has conspired between the FIA and Liberty Media will have no effect on F1 2017 because that game was already in development before these things started to happen. I think the real big changes will come in F1 2018, if we're lucky.

Not sure if we are going to be lucky. Liberty Media will aim for a large crowd if they interfere with game development, so don't expect a hardcore F1 sim. Same thing probably will happen with the F1 broadcasts; either they all disappear behind the pay channels or we will have commercial breaks every 10 seconds. We will see.

I just hope that Liberty Media gives Codies more freedom to do what they want with the game.
Can we please get a better damage model and mechenical faillures for example.
i would love to see a q&a witch codies and liberty to answer some of the things we ask onthe forum, could be really interesting if they answer fair ;)

Well as I said in my post I really do hope as Liberty media being ofcourse a media company they do understand the coummunal side of f1 and they kinda skip f1 media forward by around 5 years. But I think as someone's said 2018 is the year as mentioned they choose all game modes and make major decisions before Christmas

Liberty has significant challenges - first is to stop the decline in audience viewing which has amounted to about 1/3 of the audience. Second is to rebuild that audience. Making F1 less accessible is not a likely direction then. Also they have to rethink the product, particularly in light of the bewildering rules and lack of competition across teams. Additionally, they need a product to introduce and engage fans in the intricacies of the sport - like Madden does for US Football. Madden is a very complex game - that really gives fans a solid understanding of things like zone rotation and how to check through receivers to find the open man. It is trying to be a hardcore simulation - and it certainly seems to sell extremely well.

I agree with Coolieboy and JP072.. Sucks to have the game late in the season....   Also I think , listening from all the interview Chase is an intelligent guy....  I hope they let CM do what they need to do with the game... They want to bring back the thrill we lost ....  Maybe I am wrong , maybe right... who know, we shall see.....

Cm can make a hardcore sim and include assist like the Grand Prix series...  I don't remember one arcady racing game but all the simulation ones, like GP3 , GP4 and grand prix.....

If there were to be a serious effect, I reckon the take over happened too late for anything to be done for F1 2017, we might see something for 2018. However their main focus now is probably improving the global image of the sport for fans, the game is probably not their number 1 priority.
