If there's time for the devs to do it at a later stage post-release (after all of the fundamentals have been addressed), I would love to see the original model in the game.

It would be amazing if it was possible to do a classic rally DLC pack at some point. Get the old Mk2 in there, maybe cars like the Talbot Samba :D

I would seriously love a DLC plan for Dirt 4. There is nothing wrong with DLC as long as it's content that is produced after the release and not a shoddy cash grab of content that is already produced and awaiting to be unlocked. I'm looking at you EA.

While I think the Mk1 is a prettier looking car, I prefer the Mk2. A woman at work, her husband has a Mk1 in a metallic darkish purple colour, its absolutely gorgeous. Perfect condition since hes a bodywork repair and touch-up guy. If I had a picture I would share!
This is the car, not as good a picture as I saw before but its an example:

Mk2 is pretty much the only car i drive in DR. It's a minor bugbear seeing the carbon dash in interior view especially when you see how detailed the opel and fiat are.

We can debate which engine should grace the bay of a classic mk2 but i'd be a very happy bunny if they took Ari Vatenen's mk2 and used that as reference for interior/exterior and performance values.

For the modern mk2 maybe codies can model phil collins car complete with lcd dash and sequential shifter.

My only hope is that a dev sees this thread, goes to the powers that be and says..."boss, the natives are restless..."

Personally, I am more bothered by the handling of the Mk2 Escort (and others), than the appearance of it

Totally agree on the Mk1 Escort, love the RS1600. Maybe Codies could do LVX 942J or FEV 5H as a tribute to this great man.

Very nice Mk1 there, possibly a 1300E ? Check out the Doly Sprint next to it, a very quick car but nightmare to work on, I still have the scars !

I have no issues with keeping the existing Mk2, there are a lot of members that really like it but take it out of 70's class and shove it in open class where it belongs. All I am campaigning for is for Codies to treat us to an authentic period Boreham / Sutton RS1800 with BDG on Webers. A nice Mk1 RS1600 with BDA would be a real bonus and put them in the 70's class where they rightfully deserve to be.
